you mentioned Venice and hand bags yesterday, the wife and I were there on the way to Oktoberfest a couple of years ago and she was determined to buy some expensive purse for our daughter's b--day, it was Italian so she wanted to buy it in Italy, we tromped all over the place looking for it, I'm sure it was probably put together in China though

Having a hard time understanding why one would spend $100+ on wasted calories. Especially the whiskey fad crowd. Buying $150 whiskey that tastes like $30 whiskey just because the maker deems it rare. Could use that for a gym membership and a tub of protein powder to help cut down Louisiana’s obesity epidemic

Why do you hate fun?

Also, I cannot justify buying $100+ whiskey when there are so many good whiskeys from $30-$70.

Until you’ve had a $150 shot of Pappy, just hush.

Higher end bourbons are as smooth as butter with zero burn and great taste.

$30/ bottle tastes like serviceable whiskey with expected consequences.

Plus protein powder DOES NOT taste as good as bourbon.

Imagine getting your protein from some type of soy powder instead of high grade beef.

Have to agree with this. Earlier this year I went to a Bourbon tasting bar in Louisville with some work colleagues. COO bought us each a $40 shot of Michter's Limited Release Toasted Barrel Finish from 2017 or 2018. It was probably the best alcohol I have ever tasted and I still think about it.

For us regular poors, I love the Four Roses Single Barrell for a good everyday / at-home bourbon. The standard Michters bourbon is also very good as well.

Few hundred? Somewhere between $10,000 and $60,000 worth of liquor? No you don't
I have one friend that has roughly 25k in whiskey and the other around 15k

Both mid 30s and they do well but aren’t rich.

That isn’t that unusual

my wife works in the wine bidness so we reap the spoils of war, I've had to learn to drink wine more like a civilized person than the savage that I am, I used to guzzle down a glass of wine like it was a beer and the old lady would jump on me and say something like "you didn't even taste it! that's a $2000 dollar bottle of wine!"

They use it to trade for other stuff later as well as it’s a hobby

8-10 years ago you could easily find Blantons on the shelf for right at $50. You can trade that now for an easy $150-200

Yes. My point is why spend $150 to drink poison
