There's a place in my neighborhood called Dunn Bros that has really good coffee. I don't even know if it's a chain, but I really enjoy it.

I would prefer about 7-10 local roasters in NorCal than Starbucks.

the OP probably lives in hicksville, TN. you think there is a blue bottle or ritual where he's at? his options are starbucks or circle K for coffee.

The Coffee Bean closed? I loved that place.

I always liked the pumpkin scones Starbucks would carry around the holiday season, but I don't think they make them anymore.

NO.

Now this is how dumb rumors get started. Coffee Bean is a very nice place that has been in business almost 10 years and they are nowhere near closing. They close at 3:00 pm each day, so they are only a breakfast & lunch place.

Hey, I actually like starbucks fine. Just the notion that it (or any coffee shop) is somehow "high class" is quite amusing.

Get over yourself old man.

I didn't say Starbucks was high class compared to all venues. I would consider Augusta Golf Course much higher class but it's not a coffee place.

I said that criticism of Starbucks by people like the OP was borne of class envy. I meet people all the time that whine about the cost and justify it by saying the coffee doesn't taste good. That's a lie. And the price is a buck over McDonald's coffee. If a buck is that important, you're low class.

OMHO that is ridiculous. The most expensive cup of coffee Starbucks sells is less than a Whopper combo at BK. I consider myself well off and I don't get coffee there, one reason is the price, it is a matter of value to me, is the coffee worth the price they charge, not in my opinion. There is the silly snob appeal, which is why their demographic trends toward women, who tend to be drawn to it.

I have a grinder and a French press that makes a better cup than anything SB sells and I don't have to stand in line with Biff and Heather in the morning.
