What an ignorant statement.

How so?? A FP and a Chemex both produce the same product...A cup of coffee. IMHO a Chemex makes a better cup than a FP.

Then I met my wife and she pours hazelnut mocha vanilla shite creamer in her coffee
My wife mostly uses the Nespresso, but on the weekends I'll make us both a cup of top shelf, freshly ground coffee in the V60.

She still puts a bunch of vanilla creamer and collagen powder in it, but even with all that can still tell that it's a better cup of coffee.

Currently using Stumptown El Jordan, which my BiL gets for me every time he sees it.

My Capresso Infinity is still going strong after 3 years now
Mine just turned 4 and while it has some faults, it's a very good grinder.

I do kind of wish that I had one that would grind by weight, but that's a minor convenience and not really necessary.

Yea? We stepped up our machine…and use bottled water, but we haven’t upgraded our ground Community. This machine is pretty slick.

I was going to get the Baratza Encore since it has changeable/upgradable parts but had Amazon credit and didn’t want to come out of my own pocket. The Capresso has done just fine with regular cleaning. I’ll upgrade once it kicks the bucket.

Every process you use to make a cup of coffee ends up with the same product: a cup of coffee. It’s an ignorant statement in that the processes are entirely different. Chemex, which is basically a name brand pour over system, has more in common with a Mr. Coffee than it does a French press.

I personally prefer French press as I prefer a heavier, earthier cup as opposed to the thinner, brighter, more acidic cups that pour overs produce, but that’s simply a matter of preference. But to equate the processes is silly, in my opinion.

One method that we enjoy is French press coffee put through a chemex filter. All of the body of French press without the sludge.

You’re still going to have some, but you can minimize sludge by having a good grinder that minimizes dust and by skimming the fines off the top before pressing. But that leaves you with not so much that a good swirl of the cup won’t fix it

Newordercoffee.com does a fresh roasted(within a week) k cup and they are very good if k cups are you’re brew method.

Drinktrade.com is great for trying small batch coffee roasters from all over the country in subscription format. Highly recommend. I do mostly pour over with hario or kalitta brewer.

This is stupid.

A Chemex is on the opposite end of the brewing spectrum of a French Press.

I prefer a Chemex, but people who love oily, dirty, and gritty coffee prefer a french press. Full immersion.

Chemex filter is stupid thick and provides about as clean a cup as you can get.

Extremely particular. Water makes or breaks coffee, especially if you're drinking freshly roasted specialty coffee.

Third Wave Water is legit. Mix it with distilled for perfect coffee water. I used to make my own..Here is my recipe. Works great, but I got tired of messing with it.

My water recipe:

1) Add 25g Epsom and 8.6g bicarb to 500ml distilled water to create concentrate. Shake.
2) Add 2.5g of concentrate to 500ml distilled water
3) Store the rest of the concentrate for later
4) Brew with your mineralized and buffered water!
(86mg/L bicarb, 246mg/L Epsom for 100gh and 50kh)

15.14 g (concentrate) to a gallon distilled
75.70 g (concentrate) to 5 gallons distilled

Water is like 90% of the cup of coffee. At a minimum use good, filtered drinking water.

Easy enough to figure out the weight of beans needed for your perfect taste profile. /just get yourself a kitchen scale, set tare weight and you're golden!
