The coaching adjustment where you can pick how far your safeties play off the los or how wide they are is really good at stopping the run as well.

another gripe...
can i not adjust the line blocking scheme when a run play is active? i can't seem to make any kind of adjustment. L1 only brings up pass blocking adjustments. only thing i can do is change the mike LB.

Absolutely love that feature. Really good addition.

Don't believe you can do anything with run blocking that i've seen at least, only pass blocking and ID Mike, though I'm curious if you do the pass blocking shade adjustments on a run play, if it does anything.

i remember in '14, you could slide the line left or right on run plays. i don't know why that would be handcuffed to pass only plays.

Yea it definitely used to be a thing.

Do we know if they limit the coach tree in dynasty?
Last year I maxed out at level 50 IIRC which was annoying.

I believe I saw it was increased to level 100.

I usually match personal and if the cpu goes 5 wide I go zone to deal with them.

Going back to CFB 25, the sets I use depends on the quality of my defense. The more seasons I complete resulting in higher and higher rated defenses, the more base defense I become. Meaning....if I am stacked with 5-6 DLs all ranging from 280-310 lbs, and a bunch of linebackers with 88+ speed, then I'll usually run the 3-4 about 80% of the time and rely on the speed and talent to cover the passing game in my zone blitz scheme. The worse my defense is, the more I have to compensate by adding extras DBs. I'm fine sacrificing run defense to cover the pass in those situations...and I feel like that is fairly realistic to how coaches do it in real life.
I haven't played 26 enough to see if I can survive with these tactics but it worked really well in the previous game and allowed me to absolutely dominate against the run while doing well enough in the pass to average giving up less than 300 yds a game. All of this on Heisman difficulty btw.

That was pretty much my strategy. If I built up a fast d I went base a lot.
If my D isn’t great then I put more dbs on.
I have only played a few weeks of dynasty but it looks like the game dialed back speed recruits. Linebackers seem to be in low 80s

Noticed this as well. However, did some of my first offseason last night and the training results, I had some guys that got some pretty good speed/accelleration bumps in the offseason. In '25, it seemed like those numbers only ever improved like maybe 2-3 over the whole career if lucky. I had guys get 4-5 bumps this year.
I'm thinking player development may be more important than last year, especially since you can turn off auto-develop and focus on where you want.

They've dialed speed back a ton (which is a great thing). Most of the 4 star WR's I've recruited are mid to high 80s in speed...so it really means something when you get some dude with 90+ speed interested in you. No more of those 2 star, 99 speed WRs...that I've been able to find, at least.

Do you have disk or digital version? I heard it is on disk but I have the digital version and recruit speeds are more inflated than ever. I simmed 4 seasons just to see how recruit ratings are and they are ridiculous. In 4 simmed years with generated recruits there were about 10 players with 99 speed and too many to count with 97 and 98 speed. Even a few defensive lineman with 90+ speed. Don't even get me started on the Inflated acceleration, agility, change of direction.

Can someone explain to me why on the ultimate team mode, I have gotten Junior Seau and DeSean Jackson cards 5x each?
Seems like a complete waste

Receiver wide open? No worries, he'll run TO THE DEFENDER instead of keeping his space for an easy catch.
Game is great but the AI needs a ton of work.
ETA: The drops in this game are horrendous. I'm hitting my receivers perfectly and it's just drop after drop after drop after drop.......
