Be careful about completing that assassination. It will lock you out of finishing Rya and Tanith’s quest if you do it first

It took me a bit to get used to it as it is overwhelming. Just have to stick with it. Once you figure it out the patterns of the game you're hooked. Masterpiece. Only thing I touched for 4 weeks.

The last one? Thanks for the heads up. I was doing the VM quest and knocked out the first two, but the third is in the mountains and I can’t access it without completing Leyndell apparently.

I’m level 34 and can’t get past Margit. Do I just suck?

No, it just takes a lot of learning and getting used to a build set that is right for you and that is comfortable. Go around and get armor sets and weapons for your build and maybe try leveling up and beating some of the other enemies around the map before heading onto the story. It helped me quite a bit. I was very frustrated at first, but it’s definitely one of my favorite games ever.

Are you using the jellyfish summon? It distracts Margit just enough so you and the bro you summon in can do some good damage and get him to ~40% before jellybro dies, and at 34 you should be able to not suck enough to finish him

I use the hawk for enemies that can jump real high.

I like the wolves for ground enemies

I like the reanimating skeletons for long fights because they come back.

Jelly just seems to die before it has time to poison a big boss.

Got the spirit of king someone last night, I will probably try him tonight.

I went back to the start last night and ran the gauntlet of the smash machine and beat the tree thing in the beginning. He was massive hard.

Jelly is a pretty tanky summon for early game and snatches aggro on Margit, definitely helped me beat him faster than I would have otherwise

No predictable timings, unlimited stamina, perfect tracking with 180 deg turns anytime during attack

fricking garbage

Over 1,000 hours in the Souls series and I've never seen such bullshite

I'm pretty much at endgame and Margit is still the hardest boss I've faced so far in terms of raw # of attempts

once it clicks you'll beat him without getting hit

oh it will. you'll learn exactly what the proximity is for him to trigger his follow-up attacks with the spectral weaponry. just experiment and you'll see. it's all proximity based

biggest struggle with him is he's not punishable. have to be very conservative since his moves barely allow you time to attack

I've tried to fight him like Manus and force attacks with longer openings at distance.

But then he follows up with eight attacks I simply can't roll through. It's frustrating.

Margit is pretty tough. He baits new players with tons of false openings
