In the first town - Valentine. Small town but they packed it with a lot of shite. I could see myself spending hours just in this rinky dink town.

So I hopped on another horse to chase a guy and I guess my original horse went back to camp? Kind of annoying. Also it says to return horse to person to gain some honor but it doesn't mark where the guy is that you stole it from.

That happened to me. he should be a white blip on your map if you get close to him. Were you in Valentine?
I agree the horse going back to camp is annoying. Also, they won't come when you whistle if they are too far away. That is dumb.

It was in Valentine. Maybe because I got the level 1 bonding it did away with the blip.

Finally able to go out and dick around on my own. hunting wild game like the jimmy johns owner.
i'm super potato aim with rifle and gun, but deadly with the bow.
What does kind of suck, is as i'm hunting, ill slowly ride into woods and hear some one yelling for help, but zero indicator to where, and i couldn't find them to save the world!

This game is so slow. And for no reason.
People try to defend it by saying “ oh it’s just real and immersive”. Wrong!
There is no reason to have to move this slow in a game. Or have no option to fast travel to your camp( make it so if you fast travel to camp all furs and meat deteriorate) OR why can’t you set a marker then hold A while on your horse to auto run to the destination. AC Odyssey had that feature and it was very useful.
Aiming is terrible like in all rock star games which is just sad.
I like the hunting but haven’t gone fishing yet because idk where/how to get a pole. Maybe I have to sit through 6 hours of cutscene missions to unlock the fishing ability.
I see why the game has 60+ hour campaign. It takes you forever to walk or ride anywhere. Oh and to fill the void they just talk to you forever. That’s where the “500,000 lines of dialogue” came from.
The looting is also very good. I prefer this to the usual fallout system. The cooking and crafting is really good too.
I also like the first person option. Still use third in some cases. But it’s nice to have both as options.
Also wish you didn’t have to travel with the gang. I would have liked to travel solo and upgrade my personal camp/ homestead

Fast travel kills immersion, also avoids all the shite u can possibly run into in the wild and with the stamina/health system. Rockstar had a vision for this game and its all about immersion. Its the sole reason for all the survival features. This game isnt meant to be played like borderlands or even fallout 4 for that matter. They want you soaking in everything (dialog, landscape, atmosphere) instead of just fast traveling and skipping every cutscene to see how fast you can complete everything.
They didnt spend time developing all the subtle aspects like ur character changing clothes based on temperature changes and animals smelling you downwind just for you to be able to skip around the map and completely bypass it
