You might have to have all of your names read out loud and posted on social media when they announce your winning score of 46.

I live in the neighborhood this took place in, it was just a fun, open to the public tournament to get people out to the course in December. I know the mulligans, throws, etc were fairly limited and did not lend to a -26, even on this course.

There’s pencil whipping and there’s turning in a 46.

An ace on a 381 par 4 is quite hilarious.

worse yet, to cheat like that at a 'for fun' community scramble. For no more than probably a couple hundred or so. That fatass had no shame accepting that check in front of everyone though haha.

It's why I hate playing scrambles.. b/c someone is going to put down and unrealistic score for the sake of putting it down.. I play in a couple of charity ones every year and the amount of low 50's are absurd..

Take away mulligans, take away red blasts and make everyone play from the tips..

Last one I played in I felt like I was cheating a bit b/c I had my 15 yr old Daughter play and she normally carries her drive 220-230, so from the ladies tee it can be a damn good advantage.. And even though we played great.. we still weren't close.

That's not the point of the tournament, though. The point is to raise money. They make money selling all those things. I hate the cheating as much as the next guy, but I also understand the organizers likely don't give a shite.

I think someone mentioned it in another thread. The charity tournaments should put all the valuable items in the raffles and make the winnings minimal. It would likely reduce the cheating some.

Oh I know.. the last one we played it was built into the entry fee.. I was like just do away with it if you're not selling separately..

I played in one that had 3 man teams, 2 groups on each hole.

Seemed more legit.

Probably the best way to do it honestly.. as long as 6 friends don't all get paired together

Saw a video of this tournament where they announced the winners and showed the leaderboard. The closest team to them shot like a 57

These dudes claimed a hole in one on a par 4, an albatross on a par 5, 12 birdies, and 4 eagles...and the team leader was probably pushing 400 pounds with a guy pushing 70 years old with him.

Like everyone expects massive cheating in these bullshite scrambles, but JFC can you try to be less obvious about it

And in typical fashion, dudes bounced immediately after

I’ve said it over & over. The only reason to play in a scramble is to raise money for the organization putting it on. The pencil is going to win every time. Enjoy 4-6 hours with friends or business associates & know that unless you cheat you won’t win (unless you are lucky enough to win a Peoria handicap).

My man has a set of balls on him to put that score down lol. I've seen a number of 4 man scrambles where there were teams with all scratch golfers and I've never seen any of them break the upper 50's.

I doubt a team full of pro's could turn in a 46 even on an easy neighborhood course.

Agreed on pencil whipping. The big thing that throws these scores off are the mulligan packages and not pairing multiple teams together…..

Mulligan packages with throws, kicks, red blasts and you name it are going to end up having stupid scores like this. I’ve played in one of those before with 4 really good players. All with handicaps of 4 or less. And we shot -21 or 51. Some jokers came in with -22 and beat us. But we had some silly scores. Albatross on a par 5. Used the red blast. It hits the cart path. Hit the approach up to the fringe and my buddy kicked it in the hole for a 2.

The only way to keep scores competitive is pairing two three man teams together like the last post says. Or eliminate mulligans all together.
