Finished second in a 4 man scramble tourney today

Most of you are better golfers than me, but me and the boys had a good day today. Finished 13 under at the Nicklaus course today at bay point in PCB. We were turning. Best I’ve ever hit it today. Feels good man. Can’t wait to hit the course for our Wednesday round and go back to chunking irons
PS. We’re pretty sure the squad that beat us (-17) cheated. Such is life. We did win a good prize, 6 bottles of liquor. Wish I could’ve played 18 more when we finished. I also missed a $10,000 ace by about 8 inches. Wasn’t even mad, I’m just happy to pure one up at this stage. What a game golf is.

Anybody that ever says they've won a scramble without cheating is lying.

I’ve won several. We played behind a group that hit at least 4 mulligans each shot while we watched them. They saw me throwing darts with my wedges all day. They would walk off the green and I would throw one up about 5-10’ on our first shot all day long. We got to the pro shop and they had turned in 14 or 15 under and we walked up at 16 and they immediately started talking shite about how we cheated.
Some days are better than others on a scramble and team comp goes a long way. I’m a good to excellent wedge player under about 110 yards. I’m a terrible driver and above average with an iron between 110-170. Give me someone hitting bombs off the tee and we will shoot well. Put me on a team where we struggle off the tee and we are fricked.
Played in a 3 man scramble a few weeks back and we played like garbage, we had one par five where we burned two mulligans to find a ball next to the creek and have to punch out sideways into the fairway.

quote:The DA here used to put on a 4 man scramble for a local HS scholarship. The course was short and if you had a decent senior or woman player you could light that course up. Well we had a good senior player and shot 19 under. Funny thing is everybody had two mulligans and we brought some back. Had two eagles (one was a chip in) 15 birdies and one par. Second place shot 18 under, they had a decent woman player.

Ahh the 4 man 'last man in wins' scramble. You can always tell when the team that took just under 7 hrs to finish wins by 1 that it was totally legit because they "hit" 4 eagles. I will never understand why people will cheat to win a soft sided cooler and a plastic trophy.

You just have to shrug it off. If the "cheaters" want to win that badly, not much you can do.
Last years LSU Alumni golf here was won with a 20 under. Defiantly a BS score. Second was 16 under. We finished at 15 under. I'm on the board and will be watching for last years winners this year. Can't always judge a book by its cover, but if those guys shot 20 under, I'm Tiger Woods.

Played in a work scramble at Ross Bridge, they had moved all the tee boxes to the womens tees to speed things up, had some bad weather coming in that day.
My drive was on, and a guy in our group got hot with the putter. We turned in -17 for second. Leading group turned in -20

Won several scrambles. I can hit it far off the tee.
Best finish was -17. Myself and another long hitter played with two guys 60+ that were good wedge players. We also putted lights out. I say we, but I was hitting 4th all day and only putted once the whole day and think I missed it haha.

Played in one a couple weeks ago where there was a -22 in the clubhouse before our mid-day flight even teed off lol

Played in a scramble at the Bluffs where the winners shot -23 to each win a signed Fournette Jags helmet. That was bullshite

At the end of the day second place wasn't so bad. They got a free round of golf and everyone thinks they cheated. We got 5 bottles of liquor and played a really good round. Now that the alcohol has worn off we can accept it. Saw two guys from the other team out on the water yesterday and gave them a nice ribbing.

That's not a bad consolation prize. The best I've ever done is place 3rd at Belle Terre years ago, and our prize was a Starbucks coffee mug and a one year gym membership that was over an hour away from where I live lol
