yep. I bet Rory is kicking himself for not taking a couple hundred mil for a few years.
Maybe Rory wins the Masters last year if he went to LIV, and maybe he doesn't. I doubt Rory is kicking himself about anything after the year he had last year.

Rory is going to be close to a billionaire by the time his playing career is over and will retire as maybe the second most beloved golfer worldwide outside of Tiger.
I’m pretty sure he doesn’t regret not tarnishing his legacy and playing out the latter part of his prime in obscurity (probably not winning the Masters and definitely not winning another players and tour championship) for an extra couple hundred million.
Rahm could’ve given him a run for his money, instead he hasn’t been relevant for two years and barring a big resurgence the first thing everyone will bring up when talking about him historically is his LIV defection. And as a price for that he’ll retire with $750 million instead of $500 million.

Why would he be upset?
Because he's wasting the prime of his career playing on an irrelevant tour that no one watches or cars about and does a poor job of preparing him for major championships

What we are missing is not Rahm vs Rory but Rahm vs Scottie. Which is a shame. Both close to the same age and in their primes.

Thanks to Greg Norman and Phil Mickelson.

They didn't make Rahm go. He could've listened to the tour when they wanted to tell him they were not close to a deal, but he didn't want to listen.

I agree, he is a big boy and can make his own decisions. But LIV never gets any traction to begin with without Norman and Phil and then to a lesser extent DJ.
Rahm’s legacy will always be tied to him saying one day that not everything comes down to money and then bolting for the money not long after that. I think even he would admit it was a colossal mistake to go to LIV.

Scottie is 6-0-2 against Rahm with 3 outright tournament wins to 0 for Rahm
Ain’t nobody on Scottie’s planet right now

That was awful. Nothing about that appeals to anyone other than maybe some 12 year olds with no money.

I met him once. Caddied 18 holes in his group.
He could not have been nicer and was a class act in every way.

Bunch of judgy junior high girls in here.
Enjoy what you like.

That's a nice anecdote but everything else points to him being a massive arse hole and cheater

Rumor is DPWT is going to switch out mandatory appearances at certain tournaments in lieu of fines, I.e sure Rahm we won’t fine you for playing in LIV but in return you have to agree to play in these six DPWT events with no appearance fee.
So add those tourneys to the majors and the 15 LIV events (with an extra round per event).
