Really? Lots of people cannot stand the guy.
Rory is a weird middle ground for me. I am baffled by the two extreme opinions of him. I don't like him near as much as the media types that seem to hold him up as just under Tiger. They always seem to assume that everyone absolutely loves Rory. On the other hand, I don't hate him as much as social media seems to hate him.

I have become a Rory fan when I used to be indifferent to him.
Hes very polarizing and is constantly under a microscope. He puts himself out there on topics like LIV and the state of the game when many others with his platform do not. To perform how he does with all the pressure and all the eyeballs on him is very admirable IMO.
ETA: he’s also really fun to watch even outside of all the off course stuff.

It’s 14 LIV events & the “play less golf” thing has been disproven by a number of them. It only applies to a small group of golfers on LIV but obviously not all of them.
I think theres a reason LIV added mostly euro players this offseason… this probably helps LIV’s chances of keeping Rahm/Hatton/etc
Rahm played 21 events last year plus Ryder cup
Hatton played 25 events plus Ryder cup
McKibbin played 28 events last year
Sergio played 21 events last year
David Puig played 25 events last year
Thomas Detry played 29 events last year
Patrick Reed played 32 events last year

The real reason that Reed left LIV is because he was pissed that DJ had his own team and when he signed on to LIV he was initially supposed to get his own team. Reed was also unhappy that DJ was paid more than 3xs what he was being paid. Reed's team and LIV negotiated a deal and Reed was set to resign with LIV but then he won in Dubai. Reed's wife tried to renegotiate, and reached out to the private equity group who owns the PGA Tour now who then came in a gave him upfront cash to play in DPWT and will be eligible for player equity program in 12 months. It didn't sound like LIV was too fond of Reed/wife so they didn't match which is also why he never got his own team.

This is definitely believable
Btw I saw the “3 aces” will be using a reserve player, Miguel Tabuena, for the first LIV tournament in Saudi. I wonder if/when they will add a 4th full time member

Well the Tour’s official statement on Reed said he isn’t eligible to get equity until 2030. So that part at least has already been refuted
