Cardio issues after covid

Anybody else experience cardio symptoms after a Covid infection? If so, what were your symptoms, how long did they last, and what was your plan for resuming cardio exercise? How did it go?
I’ve had pericarditis with potential myocardial involvement for about 6 weeks or so. I feel better every day (mostly), but I’m scared about resuming running and was hoping to read others’ stories.

I felt winded after about a week of running at what used to be my normal pace. Felt normal after 2 weeks of consistent running.

Not a troll, were you vaccinated before this?

I got 2 doses of Moderna in spring ‘21. Ran a marathon in Sept ‘22 and felt great. Covid in Dec ‘22, and it’s been a struggle since then.

I had a 10-12 bpm increase in my resting heartrate for 3 months after COVID. It sucked. I most likely had a mild case of myocarditis. But I just kept going and eventually I got back to normal.
Just take things a little easier. Listen to your body.
And for those asking, I was not vaccinated.

My bp was markedly elevated for about a month and no, not vaccinated. It returned to baseline

For a vaccinated perspective, mine was pretty in line with the guys above. I got Moderna in early 2021, didn't get COVID until about a year and a half later, had the same experience. Elevated HR and slightly more fatigue when working out. Eventually went away on its own after a few weeks.

Thanks for the response. God willing, I plan to do something like that in a few months. I got hit pretty hard with it and haven’t gone a whole day without symptoms since early Jan ‘23. Ibuprofen saved my life. shite sucks. Running was such a huge part of my life.

Damn, my resting heart rate has been higher since Covid now that I think about it.

I was winded and out of breath running for a good 3-4 weeks after the OG covid. I felt like I had to build my endurance back up and just simply strengthen my lungs again. I did it with simple sprint, jog, walk routine on the treadmill. Then went for distance at the track after 3 weeks. I haven’t had any issues since.

I also had Covid at same time. It did not impact my cardio sessions one bit though. I got the 2 shot Pfizer vaccine in July 2021 and no boosters. Covid impacts everyone differently. My training is mostly focused on cardiovascular shape which I had been doing for 12 months when I got Covid not sure if that made a difference or not. Most of us will continue to get 'covid' once or twice a year from here on out and to combat that I hope to have a very strong cardiovascular and immune system when it happens.

Well that is pretty fresh in the system, so got to give it time. Everyone is different.
I asked about the vax, I know who few people that had covid, post vax and they have had heart weirdness. Not everyone, just a few of them and they are some in shape people.

FLCC Protocol Long COVID and Post Vaccine
Please verify, but it appeared that their long COVID protocol and their post vaccine protocol were one and the same.

Got nasty sick in early January, not sure if it was Covid but matched a lot of the symptoms. My cardio was terrible for about 2-3 weeks. My heart rate was way higher than normal and I was getting random weird chest pains. It just stopped one day, and my cardio is almost completely back to normal.

i was two weeks out from a half marathon when i got covid the first time late 2020/early 2021. My first signs of covid were on a 10 miles run that i had to walk home around mile 8.
The peloton my wife ordered came in 2nd week that i had covid. Took awhile but i used that to get my cardio back.
second and third times i got covid, i hardly noticed an effect on my cardio.

Could be a combo of both. COVID is no doubt hard on the body for some and honestly depending on your conditioning pre covid infection can cause the effects to linger longer.

Bumping this to update the story, not for any reason but to share my experience in case it can help somebody. I finally decided I had dysautonomia. The nerves to my heart just weren’t signaling right. And then I got deconditioned sitting around waiting on it to heal. A couple weeks ago I started walking for cardio. My heart rate stayed about 110 for most of those walks. Then one day it plummeted to 50, so I ran to get it back up. Then it plummeted again, so I ran again. Then it steadied again at around 90 bpm. I feel so much better, like something clicked back into place. I’m very much out of shape, but I can fix that if I have the tools. Weirdest shite I’ve ever experienced.

It affects people differently but clearly the vaccines didnt work.
Might just be a timing thing or you are fricked forever.
