Just got my blood work back. High triglycerides and low testosterone. I'm 46, 5'11" and 200lbs. Pretty active but no exercising. Desk job offshore and I work 21 and 21. I was prescribed Vascepa and test cream. Starting in the morning, I will begin a cardio and light weight workout routine. How many of you baw's are in my shoes and any motivation or advice would be great. I know I know....stop eating sugar and fried shite and get off the couch.

Vascepa really helped me. I actually take the generic — for me I need two compared to thenone of name brand.

I'm 42 and only really got serious about diet and exercise in January at 6'4 240ish. I've lost about 15 lbs and feel like I've also added some muscle. If your goal is to lose weight, my advice is to really focus on calorie intake. You'd be surprised how few calories you burn through exercise.
ETA: Make sure you're getting the protein you need. Supplement with whey if you have to.

I’m 5’10 and 185. Perfect blood work. Genetics is the main factor in you blood levels. You can do all the working out possible and dieting but won’t matter much

Get the free MyFitnessApp or even better, something paid like Macro Factor and log all your food.
It sounds like a pain to track your food, but the apps make it easy, and I think for most people it’s a key part of eating healthier. It’s really eye-opening, and seeing it in plain numbers makes it possible/likely that you will change your habits and make better dietary choices.
Eat protein first at every meal, drink a lot of water, do resistance training and some cardio.

All of this. Heard fixed reviews on statins.

You are a moron.
Genetics do in fact affect your triglycerides and testosterone levels. Of course, lifestyle does too, but some people need to do some research in this thread.

But one can change how their genes are expressed through proper diet and exercise. A blanket statement like "its all genetics and there's nothing you can do about it" is indeed moronic.
