Irrigation extensions going in today!
Yesterday, the weather app showed low 40s on next Sat. This morning, those are gone.

It looks like the long range forecast is backing off the rain projections and raising the lows a little.

I'm hoping that holds. I like taking educated gambles when I throw seeds out.

I have one more new row to put in this afternoon. I knocked out one on Friday. That will take care of cut flowers and squash. Have a few more weeks for broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots before 2nd round of beans and sweet potato slips arrive.

I have a lot of pine needles and mulched live oak leaves I can use for mulch. What would be best to use in the raised beds? One over the other overall, both, one over the rows and another between, etc?

Both work great. If you have enough, I'd do a layer of oak leaves (mulch them with a mower or something if possible) followed by a layer of pine needles to keep the leaves from blowing away. The leaves breaking down will do wonders for your soil health.

Great thanks all. Gonna use both in this way then.

Got some shots of the flower/herb seedlings. Most are germinating.

And the butternut squash is looking great and growing true leaves.

Started harvesting the biggest leaves from my collards.

Kale and chard should be ready in a couple weeks.

Drip depot package was delayed. Was supposed to be here Friday but probably tomorrow. Wife and little sausage helped finish off the last row this afternoon.

Couple of quick shots of celery, broccoli, and cauliflower, and onions and lettuce.

Beautiful weekend for being outside. Seedlings hardened off both days all day and I even got a few casts in the pond this evening.

The bluebonnets are up and blooming.

My long beans popped up quick. You could almost watch them uncurl.

I put 4 of my biggest tomato plants in the ground. Planted a Mayhaw tree as well.

My blackberries are on their second year, if most of the flowers set fruit then they will be loaded.

I don't remember ever seeing any bees the last two years. This year they are everywhere.

I was just looking at the forecast and it looks like that cold front for this weekend is definitely canceled.

As soon as I get home on Friday, everything is going in the ground.

This is definitely the earliest I remember seeing bumblebees out. They were all over my blackberries this weekend. And I caught a few honeybees on my blueberries.

Not the clearest image, but they don’t stay still long enough.

You ain't lying. I have about 50 blurry bee photos in my phone right now.

I would have planted everything but I helped a friend plug Tifway Bermuda on Sunday. That was way less fun than it sounded like it'd be.

I had one this weekend looking for the confederate jasmine blooms that aren’t quite out yet

I'm now showing a low of 35 on Wednesday of next week. Still 10 days out, but was this front just pushed out a little bit?

Lowest temp I'm seeing on the forecast for my area is 48 next Wednesday. But I’ll have to keep an eye on that.

Hopefully it's just an apple anomaly. I checked some other sites and it's 48 as well.

Like you said, enough doubt cast to make me have to watch it

Does anyone have experience with Louisiana Iris? I planted some last year and they appear to have been lost over the winter. However the woman at the nursery said they will come back. Is this accurate? Can I expect this every year?

Mine usually don't make it through the summer. I've found it best to just cut them back when they start looking rough after blooming. They have grown back now and are about 2 feet tall, looking good. If they are not growing now, might be lost. My 2cents
