If he gets the right number he will not be attending LSU. While I am sure he would love to play with his younger brother if he indeed signs with LSU his ultimate goal is to play Major League Baseball. The blown acl should definitely show him an athlete is always one injury away from hanging up the spikes. Garin is a great kid with a lot of family support so they will definitely do what is in the best interest of him, not LSU. While I would love to see him in the purple and gold I just don't see it happening as the scouts love his potential and someone will draft and pay him based on his upside.

kids say that to get that magic number higher
and Von Rosenburg said that he was coming to LSU, and dropped.
He's lucky the Pirates took him because no one else would have paid him 1.25 mil in the 6th round.
He was projected to go much higher
I think in Cecchini's case, esp with his injury, i dont think he has much leverage. Those are some pretty strong words.

Cecchini would be the perfect fit to replace Jeter, but the Yankees have been following Cuban infielder Adeinis Hechavarria for quite some time.
Edit: nvm Blue Jays signed him...

Which of these players, in order of most likely to least likely, do you see showing up on campus?
Cam Bedrosian, Garin Cecchini, Kevin Gausman, Lucas Leblanc, Kevin Koziol, and Delino Jr.
No problem.
Of those players in order likely to make it to campus would be Koziol, Leblanc, Deshields, Cecchini, Befrosian, and then...........Gausman.

That surprised me. I figured Bedrosian would be gone before Gausman.
LSU REALLY needs to pull in one of these kids. I absolutely love how Mainieri has pulled in these great classes, but a lot of big time pitchers have eluded him. Four kids in the past two years, and two more to follow this year would be really bad for pitching depth next year.
I know we are only through almost 3/4 of this season, but who do you think could be our starters next year? I say Bourgeois, Matulis, and Rittiner/Mormann.

I'v heard 2 million, and he goes pro

Gausman is rated a little higher than Bedrosian, probably because of projectability . a little taller. Bedrosian is about 6 ft,, prob 200 lbs.. not gonna grow any more. Gausman is listed 6'4" 180 lbs,, room for filling out.

which, if true, prob means he will come to LSU
maybe 10-15 players in the whole draft get 2mil+

I think Ryan Eades is in the same boat. If he can show he is just as good as before his shoulder injury (when he threw low to mid 90s) he could be a goner if the number is right.
But I also feel he will end on up campus along with Cecchini.
Injuries may have seen LSU luck into two studs for three years.

Gausman's 6'4 190 with a 96mph fastball. If he ends up at LSU it would be a major major screw up by an MLB team lowballing him.

You are speaking of Carmen Angelini. He played for the Staten Island Yankees last season and was to be assigned to their Charlson affiliate but I learned last week that he will require an unspecific surgery.

Guys I cant tell all of you this. Garin's rehabilitation process from what I've heard has gone excellent and he is way ahead of schedule almost back to full range of motion. Garin has still recieved a lot of interests from teams that specifically tell them that he has not dropped on their list and is still at the top. He's a high character guy with talent so I don't know what LSU fans should expect. Garin wants to be a proffesional baseball player and has always wanted to be. I think that there are several teams that love him and it only takes one to like you. So, I'm assuming that Garin will not be on campus in the fall LSU fans. The kid will get too much money and an opportunity of a lifetime....to be a professional.

Garin has some major work to do on his defensive skills. He also has a weak arm so 2nd is all he could really play. I doubt that with his injury he'll go very high. The kid you were thinking of is Carmen Angelini, he is cold. Zach really did dissapoint me though, aside from pitching, ge was one of the most naturally gifted hitters I've ever played with

And just to clarify, garin can mash, I wasn't trying to knock him

Weak Arm? Garin has been clocked consistently at 90-93 mph across the diamond, and his arm was rated as the third best high school infield arm in this year's draft. Many scouts have also graded Garin's arm as "plus". So Garin's arm is actually one of his storng points. As for just playing second? The kid is as versatile as I've ever seen. He played leftfield on team USA, 2nd base his freshman and sophmore years of high school, and then shortstop on the under armour all america team and his junior and senior seasons at Barbe. He's shown scouts the versatility and more importantly Garin has that "IT" factor. He's a high character guy, a leader, and a winner. He's got that fire and that competitor in him like a Tim Tebow. Which I am extremely excited Tim got picked ahead of Jimmy Claussen.

We wish him the best of luck in the draft. Keeping in mind every HS baseball player will tell you he wants to be a professional baseball player.
