You don't pay them.

The question is “how do we lose almost entire OL and WR corp?” and people here are dismissive with their “good riddance” and “this is normal” responses. No way we anticipated departures this extreme: too expensive and the removals too vast

Where is our commitment list. I thought we would have 20 by now.

Every lineman on that team outside maybe the center is pure trash. But here tiger fans are melting about losing them.

Kiffin knows what he wants. I'll bet the majority of these guys were told if you want to stay, you take less pay because they're not Kiffin's guys. It's that simple. If he doesn't think they can run in his system well, cya. Nothing else to it. Not really too shocking when just about every lineman on the OL was atrocious in run blocking which is not going to fly in Kiffin's power spread.

The problem with this response is you assume you know Kiffin's strategy alongside LSU's budget for this exchange. You don't. None of us do. How do you know they're not planning to spend upwards of 40 million to start the roster? Worst case each one of these guys "lost" their money goes back into the pool to be spent in the portal. You don't "lose" it.

LSU told most of their semi-pro players who are now in the transfer portal that their contracts were not going to be renewed. No hard feelings, it's just business.

We did not lose anything. We asked them to leave.

This is not normal. Will be a total rebuild for Kiffin. I’m sure he will do well in the portal, but we need to manage expectations for next year

Many of the guys leaving for the portal understand or have been advised they don't fit Kiffin's plan or are worth holding onto.
As far as next year, you'll see a repeat of this season.... filling needs from the portal. Love it or hate it, this is the reality of college football.

if you think your gonna get 7 ol who are any good? i’d keep a few of our guys with experience and bring in competition! with a good line coach you could see immediate improvement!
I do hope some lineman come over from oxford but hard to get 78 good ones with alabama and texas looking and willing to spend the money too!

I can’t even begin to explain how much I despise comments like this.

“We need to manage expectations.”

frick that. There are not many expectations. The expectations is year one with a new coach with new players in a new system that will not run like a new machine. Coaches have to learn the players. Players have to learn the coaches. Players have to learn new systems. There will be mistakes. There will be losses. That’s your expectations. This is no different than any other coaching change in the history of any major sport.

Why would you want players to remain who were influenced by the likes of Brad Davis? Where is the upside in doing this?

Let them depart - cut as many ties from BK and his culture of underachieving as possible...think O left LSU's cupboard bare -- BK stocked with paper plates
