Even more reason why having a good season this year will be critical for closing out this 2019 class.

If shite hits the fan early a lot of stuff can fall apart

Precisely why you can’t beat your chest about recruiting rankings in July. Downvote away.

Kardell needs to check himself with such comments after self-proclaiming to be LSU's recruiting Ambassador for all these months and leader. He throws his own shade and if he expects us not to question his committment after all the crap seen he is wrong.
The biggest issue with what he said, not the only- but biggest, is that IF he had a pro-LSU effect on other recruits (as our supposed "recruiting recruit") it is gone. In fact, if anyone had been swayed by Kardell, they will specifically discount that sway. Which is a net negative effect.

There is also the issue that those quotes are well beyond a "visit high". Not just by a smidgen- well beyond.

We know he's not the best in shaping his verbiage around a strategy from the QB commit comments in the weeks after Parrish committed.

The question I'm asking myself is: was that intentional?

I learned my lesson from the Speedy Noil recruitment. Every time he released a list, LSU was nowhere to be found. He never talked about LSU unless it was referring to us as coming up short compared to this school or that. And people on this board were sure he was coming to LSU.

So I'm taking Kardell at his word. He's now stated twice that he is less than 100% with the most recent being 50/50. And it is a shame; it will likely hurt us with other recruits (as above) and he is one of the most skilled OGs I've seen coming out of HS in a long time (he is so far along in technique it is indeed amazing).

That’s why I won’t ever give credit to the coach or get excited about a recruit until he signs the papers. I realized this when I saw in person a five star recruit every day. He would change his mind daily. Luckily he closed the LSU in the end but if he was given another day before he signed he probably would of signed elsewhere

That's the first thing I thought about when I saw this thread, the Speedy Noil recruitment. When we weren't on his final 5, people were like "Oh, Speedy's just trolling people." Then people acted shocked when he didn't pick LSU.

Sometimes (most times) the information right in front of you is what it is, and there's nothing more to it. If Kardell says it's going to come down to signing day, then we need to prepare ourselves for that unless he says otherwise. Wouldn't be at all surprised if he de-commits at this point, because I don't think he's the type of recruit to lead anyone on.

Did you not expect him to speak highly of any other school throughout the process?

If you don’t see the difference between “speaking highly” and “They matched LSU” and “Its going to come down to signing day,” you’re an idiot. No offense, some are completely comfortable as one.

I still think he ends up at LSU, but he has a tendency to say things publicly that have more consequences than he realizes. The comment about getting a QB could have scared off Parrish.

I have a feeling he’ll get a call from Coach O about what being the leader of a class means.

While I am sold that he loves LSU, is it really that shocking for a HS kid to visit another university in a different environment and realize there are other things out there for him ?

We've seen countless examples over the years of kids who say they are 100% committed but after a visit or two, their tune and perception changes.

I am sure most of these kids want to take in the process and experience the pros that come from being recruited by a lot of these schools but at the same time, it doesn't take long for a visit or experience to change things for them.

Which is why the saying anything can happen once they get on campus remains to be true

Hey, Kardell seems to enjoy attention, the rumor about a "big named QB coming to LSU" never happened. Look he got his arse kissed for 3 days ate well and probably got laid like I said before, he's not going to say the FSU visit was shite. IMO Let a few days pass and he'll be talking to O I'm sure on Monday and he'll reaffirm his commitment.

LINK

A current FSU commit tweeted to Thomas and another recruit saying to hit him up, they gotta talk business.

Can it be any more obvious the money bag is out on campus this weekend?

He also retweeted some pro-Lsu stuff today too fwiw.

ETA: Just realized the recruit that did this is Fuller, the one who posted that awful selfie saying they were gonna flip Thomas.

I don’t know what the kid is going to do, but I know what he said he was going to do.

The first rule of sales is you have to be sold yourself in order to sell to others.

Publicly saying “it’s going to come down to signing day” undermines his sales pitch.
