Moore worst case will be an often used bullpen arm like a Cowan IMO. Could even grab a Sunday type spot potentially. We will have a lot of competition for weekend spots once again.

I think he’s a starter for us.

He's got that potential for sure. He's very similar to Cowan, who ended up a pen arm for us mostly.

FRI - Evans
SAT/SUN - Cowan, Noot, Moore, Schmidt, Sheerin

Good competition there, let the best 2 win. I dont think we'd start both Cowan and Moore because they are very similar profiles. Gotta have 1 of those guys in your pen IMO to go the distance when needed in relief.

How many pitches does he have compared to Cowan?

I think this helps take pressure off Schmidt to take the next step so quickly. They can continue to ease him in, if needed. I won't be upset by any means if he does make the leap, but having him develop as a midweek starter early next season isn't the worst thing in the world.

Fastball curveball slider

So a little different from Cowan, but gets somewhat similar results. His fastball is low 90s. Cowan has same pitch mix but with the nasty change up

Looks like he had 6 Big 12 starts where he went 7+ and over 100 pitches.

Could be a pen arm, but I know Jay likes bringing velocity out of the pen. Moore and Cowan going two times through and handing it to Rizy, Schmidt, Noot, etc. might not be a bad formula either.

Big!
I think its Evans, then let competition win out between cowan, moore, sheerin, noot, and schmidt.

But i think moore will end up a weekend starter

Y’all are sleeping on Cooper Williams for a weekend starter

Agreed. I don't think he comes here unless he feels like he's starting. A lot can happen b/t now and February, but I think a weekend spot is his to lose.

In a way, I agree except Moore has been up to 96 so there is quite a bit more velocity in there. I think he has a much higher ceiling that perspective.

At this moment, I think it'll be Evans, Moore, and then either Schmidt or Williams as the weekend rotation. Obviously a lot can and will change between now and February (and then again between February and May lol).

Some might be, I’m not. I love watching him pitch and I would agree he is a strong contender. I also love that we got several LHPs so that we can go ahead and extend him in the fall and let him get a look instead of having to force him into the pen becuase of numbers

He can get there and I'm sure they would love a lefty starter, just needs a little more consistent control and another pitch in his arsenal

What do you guys think our best defensive lineup for the infield is right now? Too early to tell? Jay has said multiple times he likes to build teams for Omaha and he clearly valued defense there this year.
