If I had a penny for every murder/suicide joke that will be made about this.

I wonder if White is wanting to clean house of Vitellos coaches out of spite and stubbornness.

Josh Elander should be the guy. He's ready.
For our sake, I'd rather they hire from outside and whiff, though.

The SEC coaches saw JJ at The White House
now Tony V out and in MLB, Sully taking a "leave of absence" nice way to say under heavy medication in the nut house. All that's left is the Mofo at Texas and The Undertaker at Ar Kansas.
It's the JJ effect!!!

The next few months are going to be interesting to see how they play out.

I said this in a different thread, but making Frank Anderson the interim ensures there is a search because he doesn't want to be a HC again and he was already planning on retiring after this season.
Danny White wants the next hire to be his hire. He wants to get away from the Vitello tree. I think he's under mistaken assumptions about how much of the success there is due to Vitello and how much is due to Tennessee.
Regardless of what people think in the afterglow of this, it's not a top tier job. It became a top tier program because they had a top tier coach who could rally boosters, coaches, and players. The administration fricked him over a few times. Most recently by re-apportioning baseball money to women's basketball after the money was already committed to a player. That player still hasn't been paid.

That is fricked up. That player will probably enter the portal I'm guessing?

Their AD is incompetent and they will set their program back if they miss on the hire which they likely will. Got to say I love to see it their fans are insufferable.

Probably, but unless the NCAA clarifies eligibility for mid year transfers, he's there for this season. When they don't end up hiring Elander, the roster and the recruiting classes will sprint away.
If Josh Jordan gets a HC job this offseason, maybe Elander wants a landing spot for a little bit before picking his HC opportunity.

That would be an Elite move.

Just takes 1 player gets a lawyer to bring against the NCAA and they will grant him eligibility.

insane they don’t give Elander a test run as Interim HC. Seems like a great way to see if it works without having to commit and they are in the right position to do it.
they aren’t passing him over and keeping him on staff
