Yea and LSU was Dakorian Moore’s dream school and nobody could ruin his dream. And then Phil Knight says “You wanna bet?”

I still think next year you swing for the fences for an elite transfer qb. Especially if Nuss can get drafted high. You have leverage there with 3 qbs recently developed for the NFL. But this guy is a high floor backup who can start games in the SEC if you choose to develop a younger 5 star qb.

I know you have to pay for true freshmen, but I think the big money needs to be spent on qbs with starting experience and the trenches.

It's hard to think of a true freshman qb that's been ready to go from day 1.

I like adding Van Buren. Since he played this year I wonder if he’s going to try and redshirt, or if they’ll create some short yardage packages for him.

Leave it to LSU fans to start getting excited about the backup QB.

I’m not going to get myself excited about him being the QB of the future until I see more, but regardless of that I think this is a huge piece to fill

Last year we had basically no backup plan to Nuss, and got pretty lucky he stayed upright all year, the moments he went out the game it was disastrous. I think this has an effect on playcalling and play style as Nuss didn’t leave the pocket at all until the second half of the season - in part I think bc they taught him to not risk getting hurt

Having quality backup is an exotic luxury in today’s college environment.

Planning out your QB starter further than a year ahead is a fools errand in current CFB, but this is a great move outside of that part of it

This is a very underrated signing imo. Backup QB with a very high ceiling for the future.

I believe LSU fans are misinterpreting his stats and abilities mainly because we always do. We had fans thinking AJ Swann was going to replace Nuss...

I kinda fell into this trap too because he was touted as a talented DT QB. He had -12 yds rushing on 69 attempts 27 sacks in 9 games likely had a lot to do with that. Being a freshman pressed into duty on a bad team will do that.

He has good SEC game experience which is his leading attribute. I do think he is coachable and could be the next guy in line but I am not looking for him to be the second coming.
