I hope he understands, that the Canes commercials and endorsement goes away if he doesn’t sign at LSU. Maybe someone needs to explain that to his Uncle.

What makes you think that? Cane's sponsors NIL for players all over the country.

There are work arounds
But he's still 1000% a take, spring practice or not. He's in a class of his own.

Late sign ups.

They would also miss the window...

Not likely
Canes sponsors players at other schools…

Have you been paying attention?

If folks think Lane won’t find a way to “stretch” the spring enrollment deadline for any player they want, they must not have seen Beck’s comments about not going to class for the past 2 years.
College football is essentially semi-pro at this point, and that’s even more true for projected 1st round picks. Him missing a few more days of class when it’s unlikely he’ll be going to any of those classes even after enrollment is kind of laughable.
We’re all just impatient, so we put deadlines in place that no one involved in the actual recruitment process even care about. People need to realize this is the new norm, and blaming the kid for doing his due diligence and trying to get the most money is a bad look.
Every football player is always one freak play away from their careers potentially ending. That’s pretty much why it always seemed like college football players would end up getting paid at some point, but I don’t think anyone expected it to be as much as it has become.
Supposedly, Seaton’s uncle was expecting $2-3M for next year when they entered the portal. Based on the rumors, that number may have doubled in the past week. Seems like his uncle is doing right by him in that regard.
If his uncle’s main concern is Seaton and his family’s future, it’s going to come down to a balance of who pays him the most along with who will develop him the best and put him in the best position to showcase his game for the NFL. Seaton himself probably wants the bright lights of LSU after his visit, but his uncle doesn’t want a young kid to make an impulsive kid decision that could jeopardize his future.
People just assume all relatives that represent elite athletes are greedy folks out for themselves, but this could be a career-defining decision for Seaton and his family. I don’t blame them for trying to make sure they get it right and make sure they’re all set up for a long time even if a major injury happens or an underwhelming season playing against NFL-caliber DE’s on a near-weekly basis in the SEC.

ftr that is not what beck said, you are reading a part of it. Beck is still enrolled and does online classes working towards his major
you have to be enrolled, must past the required number of hours and you must maintain a certain GPA. those things didnt change. but plenty of people take online classes only.

So would he have to miss spring or is there a way he can still enroll?
Posted on 1/23/26 at 5:51 pm to Stropdaddy
Wrong
There is a shortened accelerated spring semester which is what JD5 did and can enroll later.

Do us all a favor and forget this website. Nobody wants this Brian Kelly type attitude around here. Go see if you can cut his grass or something
