Sharkfin - The systems is actually more of a disadvantage to the playoff teams that make the championship game, of which I'm thinking that 'The U' will do. Trust me, there will be players from The U that enter the portal after the championship game is over. The reason it's a disadvantage is because most of the players in the portal will have been taken and could potentially leave the championship game teams without anything to choose from. I think the thing that is actually broken is the schedule/calendar. The playoff games need to either be complete or played during the portal window so it doesn't affect the last two teams playing. I think you'll change your mind when this exact situation mentioned above happens to your team.

Okay. So you think people complain too much. That’s probably true. But, Far be it for people to actually care about the state of college football. The complaining may annoy me, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t for good reason.

So there’s nothing to fix, but there are some things to fix. People only care because they care. But it doesn’t matter because no one cares after it’s over.
Makes sense.
And yeah, the wailing and gnashing of teeth will mostly quiet down once the portal “window” closes. But if nothing gets changed , it will all start up again when the portal reopens.

This can only happen if we either start playing games in Mid August or eliminate conference championship games and/or go back to at most, a four team playoff (will never happen because it will mean decreased revenue).

What makes it "broken" is because its the wild west with any team able to steal another team's player.
They need to fix the schedule and figure a way to get players locked into programs. Whether thats the P4 conferences leaving the NCAA and forming their own league and making actual salaried contracts or some other fix idk. But this current system cannot stay in place.

Portal needs adjustments, limits, timing.
The pro athlete s and the -ay for play is the real broken process.

Wow!! This MAY be the dumbest post I have ever read ANYWHERE! Hey, you lobotomized moron, why do you think there are salary caps in pro football? Why do you think collective bargaining exists and there are unions? The difference between college and pro is that in the NFL there are RULES. In college there ARE no rules...well, maybe one that the portal exists for only a certain period of time.

they do not. The media, players, coaches and the fans are nothing but full of "greed". Getting or losing a player is the same exact situation as a penalty flag or an "out" call in baseball. One side will be happy and the other wont. The portal is identical to this.

Again, the portal is ONLY bad because somebody got butt hurt, the media then takes the story and makes it magnify for their own ratings. The media doesnt give a f about what it does to a fan who is concerned about their team. Bottom line, the portal can clean up a few things and the "same morons" will cry over and over about how its bad for college blah blah.
The portal is fine except for the timing but even then the same cry babies will come to cry and nothing will be different.
Here is a test for anyone. Go look in our list of transfers. Is there 1 person whining about who we got? Nope.
