I think if you were expecting a championship team next year, yeah, you can start panicking. If you were expecting a rebuild, absolutely not. Don’t need to panic. I don’t have a problem if you were expecting a powerhouse next year. It is possible with the transfer portal. I’m not. I feel like he’s gonna have to rebuild it from the bottom up just like Ole Miss. That just might be the reality of the situation.

Kinda where I’m at. I think Lane can definitely upgrade at QB. But not sure about the rest of the offense, considering what is lost. I’ll just wait and see on that front.

The lack of ANY OL names even being mentioned is certainly alarming!

there have been a few, but not nearly as many as we are losing, and OL seems to be one of the weaker spots in the portal, so it's slim pickings as is

The issue was unrealistic expectations. People were thinking we were going to get our top choice at EVERY position. Thats not gonna happen. We just need an higher incoming portal rating to outgoing portal rating and that is a win. If end up losing more talent than we bring in, then we aren’t doing as well as we think. But either way, its NEXT years class and portal that will decide if Lane is worth the bag, not this year. Honestly Lane needs is OC spending every minute talking to these potential transfers instead of helping a rival that is trying to screw us over win a ‘ship.

Panic rarely provides anything positive and usually signals future bad choices. So long as the staff sees things as they are and is trying to address any deficiencies with backup plans in place, there is no reason to panic, and if they are not, there is not much most of us can do about it.

Seems like LSU is being pretty secretive on who’s on campus. I know for a fact we have OL guys on campus but the media isn’t reporting it for
Some reason.

I just can't believe that Kiffin left Ole Miss under the most antagonistic circumstances imaginable so that he can discover "hidden gems" in the portal who "fit his system." He was doing exactly that at Ole Miss for the past several years with great success.

LSU's advantage is Louisiana kids (both directly out of high school and portal kids) a higher profile program than Ole Miss to attract out-of-state talent. The latter element will continue to be diminished via NIL.

When properly motivated, Ole Miss' NIL budget will approximate LSU's NIL budget annually. They have never been more motivated.

Given all of this, I would hope Kiffin would lean on his biggest strategic asset, the connection between LSU and Louisiana kids, including Louisiana portal kids.

The big question is whether he will assemble a staff best capable of doing so.

BK had the number one portal class last year. People need to remember Lane got chambliss and found a punter at a frat house

We didn’t make it up dumbass. That’s what Lane and company said as well as damn near everyone on this board and everyone that covers LSU. Just like we didn’t make up the 35 million dollar NIL war chest number. You can lie to yourself all you want. Gas lighting all you want but these were things that were actually said.
