quote:Kinda neutral on Chambliss after what he accomplished year one at Ole Miss in the SEC coming from a D-2 school is hilarious.
Im not a fan of Chambliss either. I mean he's obviously better than what he had this year but he isnt a great passer at all. He is a gamer though. I wouldnt be mad if we got him, just kinda neutral.
1st in the SEC in pass yards per game in games started (295.7)
7th in cmp%, but 3 guys ahead of him have 12 TDs to 5 ints, 11 TDs 9 ints, and 15 TDs to 12 ints). The cmp% is within 1% point of them.
6th in TD passes per start (1.7 per start)
First in ints thrown (3)
2nd in YPA (9.1)
2nd in QB rating (157.59)
One caveat. Chambliss only had one cupcake to truly rack up scores. He was the backup vs G St. Simmons threw for 340 and 3 TDs vs G st. I think that is easily what Chambliss would have had. And for the ones who threw more TD passes than him, only one of them wasn't on that team last year. He did that coming straight from D-2.
I saw Marcel Reed from year one to year 2 SEC
I saw Deigo Pavia from year one to year 2 SEC
Chambliss on a loaded LSU team will be a heisman contender. He's that good.

That's perfectly fine, with LSU's defense and skill players. With a competent O-line, we don't need and elite QB to make the playoffs. Maybe to win a natty, but if you're expecting that next year, you have put the cart a mile ahead of the horse.

Brotha he led Ole Miss to 5 straight scoring drives (35 points) against UGA an hung 34 on Oklahomas defense in which nobody else has done all year.
Kiffin Turned him into a Heisman caliber QB in year 1. Don’t you think he’d be even better with another year under Lane?
And don’t yall even act like he didn’t have a Heisman level season because if Chambliss would have been wearing an Ohio State, Alabama or Georgia jersey this year with those same numbers, he’d be in New York right now and you know it.

Right. He even finished 8th in Heisman voting this year.
I'm not sure what people want. He seems the safest even if someone might have more potential.

According to a lot of these rantards players can’t improve one yr to the next.Jaden caught a lot of criticism from these clowns. Its always the negative Karen’s on this board.

Chambliss looked every bit elite against UGA at UGA. And at Oklahoma. Two playoff teams. He is an excellent running and did very well throwing while moving outside the pocket. Y'all skeptics need a reality check. I suggest you go re-watch some of our QB play this year.

Their competition level was shite this year.
Ole Miss played three top 10 defenses, per SP+: OU #3, UGA #6, LSU #9
His team scored 31 points per game
He averaged 353 total yards per game in those 3
Idk man, seems like he’s pretty fricking good to me

Terrible take. Finished 8th in Heisman without even playing in the first 2 games. Also still looked good against Georgia and OU, two teams in the field

SOS was 40th. That's elite competition, but neither is it shite competition.
Some of you only have binary reasoning skills.

Wait what????
You have got to be kidding, joking, trolling or looking for comments to go back to laugh at.
If serious, you are not only completely wrong but he’s as close to Jaden Daniel’s as it gets. I don’t give a damn if he’s a system QB or might make it to the NFL or not. He’s a gamer, he’s a winner, he’s smart, he can accurately throw the deep ball, and Kiffin will figure out how to get balls thrown all over the field to mix it up and stretch those defenses, open lanes for those horses we have and will accumulate soon.
I like our backs, they are very very good BUT I’m still thinking that LSU needs a thumper. He doesn’t have to be this elite 5* guy or he can be, whatever, but filling the need is what’s important. Someone 5’10 to 6’2 225-245, quick in short bursts, sees the holes, balanced and does not go down on first contact ever. Of course he has to be able to protect the ball. But we need a guy like this, maybe can’t break the 75 yard TD but he can quickly get 5-25 yards. Then we change it up with our lighting fast dudes while having an option style QB with the WRs we produce and these TEs we currently have on the roster. There’s no defense who could stop that.
Of course the online needs to be addressed but I truly believe that we have at the very least most of the dudes that we need and can be elite but were either taught something too complicated or were playing the wrong position for their current skill level and were probably told they would play there to get them here or the staff though that was the position that would better prepare them for the next level. Which fine and all but at the same time, they have to perform at the college level and we don’t have time to get your arse ready by playing you when you aren’t ready to play. Sit your arse on the bench and learn or go transfer to sit the bench at another school. Who cares about these “Prima Donna” types. Let em go or try to tell them this is what’s best for you and this team unfortunately, you had all the opportunities, you didn’t take advantage. Go get that nasty dog who’s ready and hungry to beat up on the best DLs in the country.

Unpopular opinion for sure, not wrong there. All his stats and the situation he was put in shows he is elite.
