4 of the 6 losses were to playoff teams and Vanderbilt might have been in if Tulane and James Madison weren't given automatic bids.
Hopefully in '26, Kiffin wins most of the matchups against Playoff Teams

Accurate, but we were disappointed with our offense most of the year. We struggled to score all year and were below average in most aspects of the offense.

Just saying let's not act like we are already in the playoffs. I think the roster looks good on paper, but will be cautiously optimistic.

Seems like a very experienced roster. I feel like we have a ton of juniors.

unfortunately, we have to re-sign them all after next season...

Lane sounded confident yesterday that he can keep the core he wants, and his Ole Miss track record backs that up—there wasn’t a mass exodus. Add in the chance to play in front of 100K+ LSU fans and be coached by this staff, and I like our chances of keeping most of these juniors until it’s actually time for the NFL.

In fairness, we thought we had an excellent roster at this time last year.

And we did—at least defensively. We didn’t know Nuss was dealing with an injury, and the offensive line deserved more concern than it got.

This year carries a different feel. The offense has been rebuilt from the ground up, Blake Baker and most of his staff remain, and the defense added pieces that actually fit.

Lane put it best yesterday: it all means nothing unless you’re productive. I like the edge, the energy, the sense of purpose from this staff. If that tone takes root with the newcomers, we could be onto something special. I’m trying not to get carried away—but hope has a way of sneaking past the guardrails.

Again it seems like it will come down to the two lines. On paper, the offensive line should be better. Far more proven talent than last year.

If DL stays healthy that could be good too, but I thought the 2025 line looked amazing on paper and was just ok.
