Why would you even want to go through the trouble of forcing a player to stay that clearly wants to leave?

Cooler heads always prevail after talking to lawyers who tell them they're going to get their arse handed to them in court AND pay out the arse in lawyer fees to do it.

Depends on the contract language. He may not be able to play for anyone. He can go to school wherever he wants.

I’d do the same if I was Wash

Doesn’t really matter. He can unenroll from Washington and then enroll at LSU

Yep. While these kids are professional athletes now, it’s still college football in the sense you have to be enrolled at a school to play for it.

Williams simply withdraws from UDub, enrolls at LSU, then lets the Washington thing play out in the courts which could take years.

Frick them. Send the jet tonight.

Landry will send some of the Louisiana Air National Guard as a fighter escort.

This is just a fear tactic to try to get him to change his mind again

This reads like Kelly’s “fired with cause” saga. It felt good to some because of how lazy he was for such a high salary, but it wasn’t realistic or reasonable.

Someone at the Big 10 is ultimately going to step in here and remind them that they cannot create a situation that bolsters the argument for players being paid employees. And fighting over this “contract” is exactly that. It’s giving free ammo to the other side.

Washington will make threats like Ole Myth did about tampering, but ultimately, they will back off.

He needs to announce that he is a registered Republican. They’ll run him out with the quickness.

Then they would still have to pay him.

I mean, do they handcuff him to take him to practice and games? Put him in solitary? You can’t make someone work for you, that’s so 1820’s….

Am I correct that this is the only portal opening until next season?

I like seeing the hopeless morons on X who think the kid won't be playing where he wants to play.

Unless there’s something in the contract that states he can’t enter the portal during this period I can’t see how they can force him to stay.

While I do wish it works out for LSU. I wouldn't mind some precedent that says these kids can't sign one agreement and then just bail if they get a better one.

If it wants to be NFL Lite, make the rosters and players have accountability too

I don’t disagree with you but what happens when he just takes a seat at practice and refuses to participate?
