This should really help their recruiting going forward..

Well, I know that we need a quarterback and we’re looking at this from the lens of release him
But if the roles were reversed, we would be screaming. Hey, a contract has to mean something.
These kids need to have some accountability
Until the NCAA steps in and redefined the transfer rules and guidelines and puts a cap on what we’re paying players we’re going to see chaos
While entertaining this has to be aging administrators and coaches because this is ridiculous
I’m sure Washington is thinking hey we’ve got our quarterback for next year and now they don’t
I wonder what Sam Levitt is thinking or what kind of conversations are going on behind the scenes
It would be nice to get a legitimate update from somebody in the know

Need to get Ryan Clark tweeting and use his race baiting powers for good

Washington bringing in the QB from Arizona under the exact same circumstances. He is not in the portal either.
The Big 10 legal team screwed up the NIL agreement too bad. Woke lawyers no doubt.

This bridge is already burnt. Washington just needs to move on.

Actually, the population is 8 million in the People Republic of Washington.

Bad play on their part here.
Sue for breach of contract, sure.
But fail to follow the rules and not place him in the transfer portal? Idiotic.

Yep Washington is going to get a much bigger black eye over this than us.

I thought the legal action was still pending because it would be a precedent case

If he already signed a contract and got a better offer afterwards and is now trying to get out of it, I don't blame Washington for trying to frick him. I would do. Kids need some hard lessons sometimes.
But we've already missed out on our top two QB options and desperately need one. So hopefully it works out for us.

I agree! Look as a die hard LSU fan of course I want Desmond. Kid is legit! As a college football fan, this shite is getting out of control. I mean it already was but now signing, agreeing to a contract and entering portal less than 10 days later is nuts. Someone as to step up and take control of this shite show the NCAA has created.
Posted on 1/7/26 at 10:23 am to 7Tiger7
Why would he sign a new deal and immediately try to enter the portal?

But wait!
Is Washington admitting to paying a player to play and not pay him for his Name Image and Likeness??

I get wanting to be spiteful about this, I truly do......but the reality is you will die on a hill that will ultimately hurt you down the road. Force him to stay? Well it'd be real unfortunate if he suffered an injury that kept him out for a long time, then you spent all that money on him for nothing
