Why should it matter? It shouldn’t. I don’t dislike LSU I just support my school, and that’s it.
Most of my dad’s side graduated from LSU, but I chose to support a different team because that’s where I graduated from. That’s all there is to it.

was called SLI. It was called something different before that. Then it became USL. Then it's ULL. ULL wasn't good enough so now it's Louisiana.
Maybe you’ll find it interesting that you can still find plenty official USL merchandise in campus stores and Academy, etc…
Calling UL “USL” isn’t the jab you think it is. A lot of Cajuns still prefer it anyway.

LSU A&M is the name of the school. The only way it could be taken as a pejorative is if an association is made with those guys in College Station. Which it never is, or at least shouldn’t be

No sir. Ask their student body. They absolutely hate LSU and have no reason too.
Exhausting lies. We can keep telling you repeatedly that most UL students like LSU but because you met 1 UL student or frat boy that talked some smack, you think all UL students and Lafayette area folk hate LSU.
You can easily be proven wrong with a simple trip to any Acadiana outlet, restaurant, concert, Mardi Gras, etc..

already know all of that. Why insist on "Louisiana" when other names are more suitable and unique?
I can’t figure out why this bothers people. Seriously, if you don’t have some sort of inferiority complex, why would you care what the school refers to itself as?

"What is this obsession...." ? Obviously just a young pup when it comes to the "rivalry". This goes back to the 80's when SLI / USL / ULLL pressed the Legislature to award a new, first class computer school to them. They didn't get it, LSU did, and the anti-hate really started .Then the whole waste - of - time - name - change controversy blew up. Again, LSU won in the Legislature. Note that the only significant team fights, in girls' softball & men's baseball, occurred between the 2 teams. ( there was one knock out fight between the weenies & LSU in football way back then ). Perhaps a coincidence but both fights were started by the Bulldogs/Ragin Cajuns teams. But the name change issue really brought the rivalry to a different level.

Not a rivalry at all. Call it a frat boy rivalry or maybe even a faculty rivalry at best.
Most students and people in Acadiana love LSU.
Any sane person knows that UL will never compete with LSU in football. The resources and boosters aren’t comparable.

If it’s “not a rivalry,” then it’s funny how LSU fans are always the first ones to bring UL up. Call it a frat-boy rivalry, a faculty rivalry, or whatever makes you feel better but the obsession clearly isn’t coming from our side. And yes, most people in Acadiana like LSU. Nobody at UL is pretending the resources or boosters are comparable. Supporting the school you actually graduated from doesn’t require pretending UL and LSU are fighting for the same spot. The only weird part is how threatened LSU fans get by UL simply existing under the name Louisiana. If UL was really as “little” as you claim, you wouldn’t feel the need to keep reminding everyone.

You have me confused for someone else, or misinterpreted what I said.
I’m a huge Cajun supporter and Tiger supporter. Born and raised following both like most from the area.
It’s not a rivalry no matter how loud a vocal minority want it to be.

Shreveport is more Texas than Arkansas. The street names downtown include Texas Independence heroes and defenders of the Alamo.

You clearly don’t interact with ULL student body.
