Not to mention the crazy ridiculous receivers headed here in December. It’s kind of crazy the amount of talent LSU stockpiles at wide receiver.

chase and marshall didnt light it up as freshman

I think the only reason Chase didn't is because he was playing in the final year of LSU's old offensive approach. On the few occasions they got him involved you could see the ability. The addition of Brady amplified it.

Boutte (to some degree) is probably going to play the Jefferson role. Now, to be fair to Boutte, he won't be able to match Jefferson's savvy in finding ways to get open, but he's too athletic to not be able to have an impact.

SAVVY? what da hell you talking about willis....Jefferson doesn't have the speed of boutte...he will be open just can Brennan get him the ball...he's a legitimate deep threat with his speed...

Them baws don't know what Boutte is. The dude single handily beat STM. I love some Jefferson but Boutte is more athletic and faster.

He might be faster but I doubt it’s by much. Jefferson ran a 4.4 at the combine but for some reason people still act like he’s not athletic.

Boutte is a future 1st rounder. I'm not surprised that he is starting with Chase gone.

Defense nightmare! Marshall, McMath, Boutte, and Gilbert?

Then there is Curry, Emery, and DP.

EXACTLY. Saban in particular loses his biggest defensive advantage if offense doesn't sub during a drive. He is not able to sub for down and distance. What made the LSU '19 offense so hard to defend was they not only didn't sub out or huddle. they were able to run every play in the book with the same starting personal.

WRs not named Chase, Marshall, and Jefferson still caught 54 passes for 792 yards in 2019.

Well Marshall was injured and Chase missed a game. When they were healthy, they were on the field. Also we ran more than 3 wr sets at times.

What a idiotic reply. When u are in a spread offense like we are in here at LSU u need to rotate receivers to keep guys fresh. We run alot of 4 even 5 wide sets in our offense c’mon my man

Hey, if you think having Jamar Chase on the field for 2 plays then taking him off for 10 and playing Stephen Sullivan and Dee Anderen like we did in 2018 is a good thing, then go right ahead and think that. I complained all 2018 season about that crap. Brady comes in, no more of this Sullivan crap out wide, chase, marshall, and jefferson were the guys.

But hey, if you want to see the constant shuffling of average talent guys then do your thing.

Boutte is one of the most impressive high school receivers I've ever seen coming out of Louisiana. If he can refine his overall game as a collegiate receiver, he's going to be really fun to watch. I think he's got a chance to be Odell level good at LSU and he'll be in a great offense which OBJ wasn't.

Take your worst receiver off the field and add the best receiver in the country; a guy no one could cover. Yeah, we’ll miss him.

True but those things to translate into better. Jeffersons skillset/size combo is harder to find and creates bigger matchup issues. Then we can talk determination and mental toughness which Jefferson had in spades. We don't know about Boutte yet. He's got a tough task ahead to be better than Jefferson.
