You are comparing apples to oranges with that being the last game of the season. I can’t remember the exact quote but Kade said something like “there’s no chance they were taking me out of that game”.

And in doing so, you come off as an idiot. We have a huge fanbase so you’re gonna need a bigger brush, pendejo.

I’m fine with all that, I really am.
But any time a guy does similar to beat LSU, we get people clutching their pearls over his future career.

If you were "fine with it", why do you even bring it up? Now, of course comes the "but" part....
I'm pretty sure the rest of your post is made up. Other than a few people, I really don't know who does what you said they did. It really sounds like you are just trolling.

This stuff is very basic to follow its amazing how many people dont get it.
Kade was on a full week of rest, he has thrown well over 100 pitches in a number of games this season. Throwing over 100 pitches is perfectly fine if your velocity and control and still there.
He was throwing 94-95 in the 8th and 9th innings, with very good control. He was fine. The signs you look for fatigue werent there.
If he was throwing 90-91 in the 8th-9th and throwing more balls than strikes, then yeah, he clearly would be trying to throw through fatigue, and thats not the case.

Not even the most pitches Anderson threw in a game this season. When's the next time he's going to throw in a game? No one gives a frick.

Seems like this board would be accusing other coaches of malpractice if they let a kid throw 130 pitches.
I’m not taking a position, just going from experience on this board.
If O'Sullivan, or Vitello, or Schlossnagle did this in the CWS final no one on here would bat an eye.

People here were pretty mad at Augie for throwing Austin Wood for 12.1 innings and 169 pitches to beat Boston College in 25 innings in the 1-0 regional game in 2009. But I think that had more to do with it worked and Texas won the game.
LSU ended up roughing up Austin Wood in games 1 and 3 of the finals.

100 or more pitch games this season for Kade.
at Texas - W 8 - 2 - 2 ER - 101 pitches
vs Mississippi St. - W 8 - 6 - 5 ER - 101 pitches
at Oklahoma - W 2 - 0 - 0 ER - 135 pitches
vs Tennessee - W 6 - 3 - 2 ER - 114 pitches
at Texas A&M - L 1 - 3 - 1 ER - 113 pitches
vs Arkansas - W 5 - 4 - 3 ER - 109 pitches
at South Carolina - W 8 - 1 - 1 ER - 106 pitches
vs DBU - W 12 - 0 - 0 ER - 106 pitches
vs West Virginia - W 16 - 9 - 6 ER - 113 pitches
at Arkansas - W 4 - 1 - 1 ER - 100 pitches
vs Coastal Carolina - W 1 - 0 - 0 ER - 130 pitches
Thar's 11 times this season. The team won 10 of 11 times; the single loss was a game in which they lost 3-1, but he only allowed 1 earned run. He was ready for this.

Skenes threw 124 in a regional. He seems to be doing ok.
He also threw 120 against WF in the cws semi. It’s not like there’s no precedent for this, and a player going on to do fine in their pro career with no injury.
If you asked any player, I’m sure they’d say they want to go all out to finish strong at that point in the season.

He was pumping 95 in the ninth.

Nonsense! There is nothing wrong with a kid throwing 130 pitches. If you had him do that every week it might be a problem.
If Kade had a heavy workload inning after he reached 100, then it becomes an issue, but he had easy innings and then the between innings rest. No issue.

Came here to say this. He lost no velocity and seemed to be gaining strength in the 6th-7th. Jay would have pulled him if there was an ounce of a sign distress. As if Jay was scared to bring in his 100 MPH throwing reliever.

I don’t know about Jay, but with that one run lead, I was scared.

Johnson calculates his decisions. He knew he would need a pitcher to throw like Skenes did in the CWS. I told some friends after the OK game he was testing Anderson to see how he handles the situation. Anderson was needed and responded. Johnson is a lot like Skip. During the regular season it’s about putting players in situations to see how they respond. When the time comes they have been in the situation before. Enjoy the ride because next season will have the same situations and different players executing.
