What ever he decides, just hope he gets back to 100%

I’ve watched football for over 40 years and don’t need to be a scout to tell you if he can’t shed blocks at the College level he certainly isn’t gonna figure it out in the NFL.
And yet everyone has him late second to late third. Teams don’t waste picks at that spot over someone who can’t do what they need. But keep watching!

He was actually pretty good his sophomore season. He was just on a bad defense.

Be cool to see him trim down a tad and play safety. I hope he comes back.

I don't think people on here appreciate how good Perkins is and how good the defense can be if he comes back
That's because he has been completely neutralized by our own staff for the last two years. He was the best defensive player on the field his freshman year.
I think we all just don't know. He could literally become a household name with one more year or also be a name we never hear called. Put him in some sort of position where he can see ball/hit ball, and let him eat. Regardless of how his family feels that will impact his NFL career.

They should use him like Dallas uses Micah Parsons.
LSU should use their 6’-1” 225 pound player like the Cowboys use their 6’-3” 245 pound player.

Baker better find a position for him where he doesn't have to think too much or have multiple responsibilities........

I have never ever seen any player get as many excuses from people for being overrated.
1) multiple coaches have misused him
2) he has been on bad defenses and thus it is not his fault
A few comments. First, he is 100% responsible for missing all the tackles he does Second, he is 100% responsible for not improving his strength so he could perhaps grow into a force at LB. Third, the only thing he was not responsible for was being vastly overrated out of HS and labeled a 5* and top 10 player. That was on the supposed expert recruiting analysts who didn't see him as the tweener he clearly is

We don't want Harold Perkins our defense last year was better without him.. He doesn't play LB very well and he is too small for DE.

Based off draft grades he has gotten he is likely a 2nd night guy, maybe falling to 3rd night.
This is probably true, but this time two years ago you could have won a bet with me that he would not be a first rounder. It is hard to believe how the last two years have gone for him.

Micah is much, much bigger and longer. He can take on OTs. Perkins needs to be used like Jabrill Peppers was at Michigan. A real swiss army knife that often lined up at SS/NB, but occasionally linebacker.
Yeah, I hear a lot of folks - Mascona for one - who say he just needs to be used as an edge rusher. That just tells me they don't watch closeley enough. We still lined him up there from time to time, but he just didn't get home as much as he used to. Teams adjusted their schemes and blocking techniques to take him away when he did that.
And to the extent that he and his team have pushed to play inside - I don't know whether or not that is correct or not, but hopefully we've all learned that's not his spot.
But the guy is an athletic freak - let's put him at one spot - leave him there and coach him up and he can help us.
