The key to having a chance in this game is our offense has to stay on the field as long as possible in the first half

Would it be better to have Etling roll out much more than before to buy a little more time to throw?

Wasn't it Gage ?? I may be wrong here,
that was a High School QB ?

A lot of non-quarterbacks on the roster were QBs in high school.

Why? Because you say he doesn't? You think too highly of yourself.

Ok.

In any event he's not going to make any decisions that can fall back on him and only him. He's admitted that he was traumatized by the one decision that he thinks cost him his job at OM.

LINK

Read it for yourself. Does this sound like a guy that's ready to throw caution to the wind, especially after what the team has gone through this season? He really thinks that one call did him in, never mind the 17 unanswered points that the D gave up that had nothing to do with that play.

Let's hope we play solid fundamental football., no crazy personal fouls or numerous false starts etc.

Solid skilled blocking, protect the QB,

D
Pressure their QB, more than any QB this season, Key needs to have his best game of the season-

Coach O - I hope we see some energy out of him on the sideline-

Aranda and Canada will do their jobs.

Don't forget Hurts can burn you with his legs. I wouldn't be blitzing the hell out of him. Blitz when the proper opportunity opens up for it otherwise spy Hurts with a LB all day long and don't let him get big runs for first downs.

But I don't think that'll happen. I think he'll be content to not suffer a humiliating defeat because people will give him credit for losing close even if he doesn't take chances. I'd be more encouraged of a 40-17 type of effort where we took some chances that just didn't work out over a 10-0 effort where we just tried not to lose the game.

Precisely. If O wouldnt take any chances at home last year with a better team, there is no reason to think he would try it this year AT Bama.

LSU tries some trickery that we have not seen, goes for it on 4th and short on Bamas side the field, Canada breaks out some plays we have not seen on offense, Aranda stacks the box forcing Bama to pass and trust his DB's in man coverage, blitz the hell out of bama again trusting your DB's in man
All of the above.

I honestly would not mind seeing Narcisse on the field a few times, might be a package that hasnt been displayed! But would they burn that redshirt

If the game is somehow close down the stretch we should do something bold...try to get chark in space with some trickery

I don't think the fans would blame O one bit for taking some wild chances to try and win this game.
Now if he took a "stupid" chance that invariably cost us the game....then crucifixion to follow.

BUT...the BS conservative approach we've have seen in the past with Miles and his unwillingless to take on risk didn't work....at all. We ended up getting cornholed by a Bama team that was much more physical than we were.

I say throw caution to the wind and go for it!!!

Yes I imagine at least once or twice. I’m reminded of the fake jet sweep handoff to Moreau we used against ole miss. Rolling dice and some trickeration. Canada to break out the playbook tomorrow. I trust It’ll be with better judgement and used somewhere they won’t see it coming. This is NOT Les Miles/Cam Cameron or any of their offensive holdovers they’re playing tomorrow.

Well Orgeron has learned that if he takes a calculated risk, one that makes football sense and it doesn't work out, a lot of people (some of them being boosters) will think it's a stupid mistake.

That 4th and short at OM wasn't a stupid decision. It was a decision that simply didn't work out. If a team has a 75% probability to pick up on yard, naturally there's a 25% chance that he won't pick up that yard. And that's ok because if you keep making the right decision you'll prosper. But Orgeron seems to have been conditioned to think that it was a bad decision, because of what happened afterwards. That's why I think he's not going to take any chances at all.

That's what I mean when I say he doesn't have the equity to make that call and have it fail, because he couldn't even stand behind his own call at OM(that actually wasn't a bad call).

Read that article. One thing I'll give credit to Orgeron, he's not subtle. He's telling you how his mind works and how he feels about taking risks.

"I'm punting next time. I want to keep this job."
