re: Baseball doesn’t need to win it all every year

Some of you guys would’ve wanted Skip fired because he got here in 1984 and didn’t win the CWS until 1991. And then had the gall not to repeat in 1992.
Had The Rant existed then, I guarantee you’d have seen that.

Without saying it directly, you’re saying the coach is the problem. 2/3 NCs but here you are bitching about coaching bc this season isn’t going as hoped. Yes, winning 2 out of last 3 NCs does give him a pass. Gives him a lot of passes. He’s earned the patience.
Find a post where I bitched about Jay. This season is not what we hoped, but I support Jay and understand this season is not what he wanted or expected either. Ask any of the baseball regulars, I was just messing around with that post.

I guarantee that nobody is more disappointed in this season than Jay. Especially after winning his 2nd in 3 years.

He does need to find a way to be consistent. This isn’t a money issue it’s a scouting issue. We should not be this bad

Oh how gracious of you to give him a mulligan. This post implies that if LSU isn’t in Omaha next year then you’ll want a new coach. How fricking insane y’all are.
That moron you’re responding to thinks Verge should be calling Jay out on the carpet for THIS season.

This season has been painful
The 2024 came around and made some noise in the post season
Heck even the unc team that beat our 2024 team in the regional final didn’t even win the cws - I don’t even think they made it to the finals of that side of their bracket

Big Ben stated it really well earlier in the season, the timing messes up portal for teams in the CWS. He suggested moving MLB draft up and portal back on the calendar. Otherwise, the really good teams deep into the CWS with talented players get screwed by default.

I agree and what’s nice about college sports is you can purge all the dead weight and regroup next year.

Jay gets a mulligan for the nattys but needs to make an adjustment that this never happens again.
I'm not sure I understand the hate on Jay. He went out and got several highly touted recruits out of the transfer portal, and they have completely whiffed. If you asked him, I'd bet he'd do the same thing all over again. There's no way to know they were going to suck this bad.

But they should be in contention every year. With our resources and support there is no excuse.
LSU Baseball should NEVER-EVER be out of the Top 20 in all the College Baseball polls.
If we are, then talk to JJ.
He's 100% responsible for everything in the program.
NC's in 2 of the last 3 years. That's Ancient History. Where are WE now?
You don't get to take the next season off after a Natty!
Don't start that EO/BK "Comfortable and Coasting" BS........

Yessir the ‘24 team came so close to defeating UNC and then hosting a super at home on account of the Arizona regional being won by the 3-seed. That ended painfully but was a fun sec tournament and a fun regional. I hope this ‘26 team can get hot like that too and contend for something in the end.

Except somehow with no excuse or logical reasoning IT IS HAPPENING RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES. What do you think the problem is?
I mean since there is no excuse, how in your infinite wisdom, do you think this is happening?

No. We shouldn’t be in contention EVERY year….. Jay is allowed an off year.

That’s our biggest concern, has JJ become fat and happy with his nattys like O? So far the answer is yes.

Vitello also has 2 SEC championships where Jay hasn’t sniffed one yet.
Seriously? LOL, who gives a shite about SEC Championships? Would you trade National Championships for SEC Titles? The last team standing 2 of the last 3 years was LSU. It’s a laughable comment. You play to win it all.
