Let’s not forget that LSU’s hitting coach wasn’t a good hitter.

A complete retooling of the assistants is what's needed.

Hopefully Woody will demand it in the offseason.

I don’t know much about the guy really, but I tend to doubt he’ll be so forceful with anything other than football and basketball. I could be wrong, and hope that I am, but I’d imagine that as long as the baseball program continues to turn a profit he’ll leave it alone.

It seems that, for better or worse, baseball is pretty much autonomous.

I’m beginning to think that if Smoke hadn’t been a lush he’d still be here.

He's an LSU guy who grew up in BR with Bertman's rise.

He's going to see baseball as a major sport.

We need todd walker... after listening to him tonight
We should throw the money at him. I don’t care if the money comes from camps or TAF. He knows what needs to be done

We need a successful college baseball hitting coach.

You wouldn't hire Alan Risher or Jacob Hester to be your offensive coordinator. I dont know why you would want somebody lacking qualifications for this job. That's kinda why your in this mess.

think this is just about tonight?
i think the season stats disprove the we can’t or don’t hit bullshite

I also think these threads pop up for every stupid thought that crosses someone’s head when they really want us to get a hit and don’t.

Remember when Saban was Super Bowl MVP? That was the year Will Wade slammed the winning shot against Lebron and Skip Bertman walked off to win the NCAAs.

The only changes Wooward should be making are head coaches. If you have to micro-manage your subordinate managers then they should be replaced. You can council and advise them, but the decisions must be theirs.

The hitting coach isn’t going to matter until Mainieri embraces a change in philosophy.

We need a HC, maybe Woodard can go steal A&M, TCU or UF coach like we stole him

Whichever coach (assume hitting) has the responsibility to ensure bunting is:
1. Executed effectively
2. Performed without injury

Pawl was better recruiting gorilla ballers, not so much little guys.

Two of those will be available next week while we're still playing. You think they'll want to come over and coach the regionals for us since they couldn't get their own teams there?

I have never seen a team top to bottom struggle so much on curve balls and sliders.

I think that Mainieri might make a change in the offseason, although that will be rough because you'd think that will involve moving on from Cain. LSU is firmly in the middle of the pack in the SEC in BA and 11th in OBP. I don't think that's good enough with the kind of productive talent that we returned, and those numbers make sense when you look at how many of our regular contributors are batting .250 or less.

Looking at the lineup and seeing those batting averages is sickening.
