You could say the same about FCS teams. Just replace them with Tulane.

No. Nothing to gain for LSU. If LSU wins, it's supposed to beat Tulane. If LSU loses, it's embarrassing.

Tulane beat LSU three out of four years, and if that happened today, it might cost the head coach his job.

This was an incredible rivalry. I went to LSU 1979 - 1982, it was a great rivalry. Tulane beat our Orange bowl team loaded with talent. The schools should play every year, Tiger Stadium then the dome. Bring it back!

those were some fun games, I think they put more asses in the seats at the 'dome than the Saints did at the time

I don't get that argument. If that is the case then why play any team that's not a P5 team.

Although it would be very different than it once was, I read that Tulane students once let Mike out of his cage at night and he was roaming around the freaking campus...it must have been a great rivalry when Tulane had a decent program.

The Reveille printed old pitcures from the series once and they had a pic of Mike in his travel cage on a packed Bourbon St. with the cheerleaders on top of it. Pretty cool...my how the times have changed.

Agree. No reason we should not play them 3 times every 5 yrs.

No excuse to not play them in basketball.

I like the idea of playing them. We go to One out of town game a year. Playing in NOLA we could make it two every other year without a big expense. On top of that NOLA is a great city.

Re the rotation of ULLLL, the weenies, La. Tech & La. Monroe, that was tried. With the exception of La. Tech, none of those schools cared enough to sell their ticket allotment. McNeese did sell out theirs but with their classification, it makes no sense to put them in any sort of rotation. People here ranting to play the weenies seemingly care more than the weenie fans. LSU does not need an "excuse" not to play them, there is NO REASON to play them. All these references to a great rivalry are referencing games back in the 70's. When LSU goes 25 years without losing to them, beat them 62-0 three times, that is no rivalry. Those days are long gone & where they should be, in the past. Ask LSU baseball fans how well the greenies have treated the LSU baseball fans. Their athletic dept. screws LSU every chance it gets. As noted, Skip told them to piss off & he knows a lot more inside information than any ranter here.

No reason to play them in any sport but home and away in baseball
Went last year to the game in New orleans at their home field...would not go back parking was terrible and stadium was to small
People were rude and I see no reason to support tulane

And in that scenario, LSU's coach getting fired would be a benefit.

Been there, done that. Let Tulane football survive on it's own two legs.

I was a kid in the 70s when the game meant something, but even I don't care. Tulane is irrelevant.

That sucked. I remember the two fans Tulane had the time were making fun of LSU because we didn't fill up their home stadium.

Tulane's program has gone down the toilet. What they did 35-40 years ago is irrelevant. There is no benefit for LSU to schedule Tulane every year.
