Grown men that continue to use the word “natty” need to be kicked in the nuts.

You don't frequent the SECR do you? Granted it's a lot of trolls but some actual posters think this.

The rushing TD in the game was Joe's also...

I think that would be 29-0 defending National Champions Clemson Tigers that we beat by 17 points, outscoring them 35-8 down the strech. Indiana is a very well coached team, extremely well coached team, but we were well coached and extremely talented. If you put 2019 LSU Tigers team on the same field with these Indiana Hoosiers our speed, physicality, accuracy with our pure domination that year, Indiana wouldn't stand an f'ing chance. And if you think otherwise, it's just your crappy recency bias.

Quit? He has been sacked about as much as Archie and had multiple surgeries.

Literally every major college football page on both x and Facebook. Especially since ESPN crowned Indiana after the Oregon game as the goat.

They won’t shut up about the comparison and are rage baiting. I said “root for Miami” but, no, now I have to hear this weak Indiana team brought up also with the idiots who claim 2020 Alabama is the goat.

I don't think Mendoza or anyone on IU would say otherwise.

But in the end, they both lifted the same trophy.

I had to follow up with the actual stats. That season he played seven opponents ranked in the Top 10 at the time of the game. And A&M wasn’t ranked but was a rivalry game against a team who had beaten him the prior year. Here were the averages of those 8 games:

28/38 391 yds 4 TDs 0 INTs (he had 2 in 8 games) 7 carries/53 yds (3 total TDs rushing) Cmp% just under 75%

The remaining 7 games were against 4 SEC opponents (Vandy, Ms St, OM and Arky), Ga So, NWSt, and Utah St. Here were those averages:

25/32 362 yds 4 TDs (over the average, he averaged 0.5 more TDs here than in the above group 3.8 v 4.3) 0.6 INTs (4 total, 2 v OM alone), 4 carries/24 yds (2 total rushing TDs) 78% cmp%

Indiana had a great team, but LSU 2019 is the GOAT

No purple and gold glasses for me, and there is no comparing the two teams. 2019 LSU is the most impressive team I have seen play college football (too young to remember the 1995 Nebraska team). IU is a great story, and a solid team, but 2019 LSU beats them by 14 or more.

Burrow is a better QB than Mendoza (by a mile), but Mendoza is more likable. Don't see the need of some people to try to compare them.

I don't believe that MOST believe this, but the ones that are saying it, yes, it's a combo of 16 games plus the recency bias. Nobody with any sense is saying this.

My response to them is, if LSU had payed an additional game, would anyone have been able to beat them? That team would have gone Number of Games Played and 0.

LSU could have played all 130 FBS teams in 2019 and would have went 130-0.
Concessions and the bathrooms could not have handled the extra home games.

Yep. Better get Old Dominion on the schedule quickly so we can tie them. Lol

There’s no comparison: LSU is a proven experienced football program with depth. IU is a Cinderella “one hit wonder”. They walked into the perfect storm this year but even thinking of comparing the two is ludicrous.

You’ll see. If Joe ever gets away from Cincy without becoming a physical invalid, you will find out what he is capable of when he plays for decent team ownership and behind a decent Oline and with a defense that doesn’t require him to put up 40 or more points just to sniff a chance at winning a game. Such an obscene waste of generational talent.

ETA:
Joe came a whisker away from winning a Super Bowl in his second season after sustaining a devastating knee injury which cut his rookie season short. ………….and doing this on a team with a shitty owner, shitty management and a shitty defense.
