Why do y'all judge Miles by one game then?
Still have vitriol for the man because of one game.
A man that was also not ready for prime time. MFKER called timeout after an interception. Many saw it then. I was delusional and I rationalized. I said promote Fisher after Saban left.

Very astute observation, for some, Miles was despised because of his coaching in one game.
But others like myself, were getting bored to death by Miles old style of football.
Coach O is my favorite Cajun Tiger.

The off-season under Coach O hasn't been that great with suspensions, transfers, decommitments

So he won't be a good coach for UT you think?

You must not have paid any attention to his career at UH if you think he's only shite the bed once.

He may be. But you have to admit they looked very bad today with much better roster physically. All those that thought he was the next coming of Saban I don't believe it. He very well could be a bad hire. Jury is still out.

i knew miles was not the man for the job after ole miss in 2009. forced me to go back and re-examine performnces i swept under the rug due to good results previously.

Way to straddle the fence.
You either think he is a good coach or you don't. Nut up

Yeah, that should absolutely never happen at Texas against anything other than a top ten offense... and not even then.
I never liked Herman and was perfectly fine with him not coming to LSU. Damnitt, other than Cheerleaders under the bleachers, there's no kissing in football!

This all happened under Miles too, transfers and suspensions, where were you during Miles' tenure at LSU, in a cave?

The Orgeron hire will not be judged by what happens in Austin.
It will not be decided by pre- season hype or how good the LSU team looks in practice.

Their few fans are delusional. All UT has to do is make a bowl game this year and it'll be improvement. AP is special too for even ranking them. They'll go 6-6 or 7-5 and maybe reach 9 wins next season. Hilarious people thought Herman was so good that Texas would be a top 25-type team this season

I'm not going to justify the performance by Texas today, it was awful. Let's see how he fixes abs handles things from here on out. There have been many teams who come out game one looking terrible and did fine the rest of the year.
Still a brand new system, on all sides. It's still way too early to crown him a failure.
Let's see how he adjusts and handles things.
This board seems extremely irrational at times
Texas isn't as talented as what they may seen like, it's going to take a year or two to make a bigger push for the next level for them

Here's my honest opinion... Herman would have done better at LSU than he will at Texas.
Now, the Horns are in rebuild, but this was still an inexcusable loss. Herman dropped the LSU interest to the media in order to leverage TX into offering him the job, and hoping that LSU would get into a bidding war with TX for Herman's services. One of the few things that Alleva has done right was to walk away from the Herman camp when he did.
My original point, if Herman had come to LSU, I have no doubt he'd beat BYU tonight. He simply would have been walking into a better overall situation at LSU. Our fans and boosters are a meat grinder, but not quite like the vultures in Austin. Herman will turn it around at Texas, but he's not the savior they (or we) were looking for.

He had 3 months to recruit & is playing with a coaches' players who weren't good enough for him to keep his job. Talk about unrealistic. Lsu fans are so freaking dumb

It won't but it's a pathetic start for Herman and Texas is right back to where they were..
Herman still would have been great here IMO, but I hope he continues to lose there. Helps our recruiting Texas.

All of the recruiting services and sports media are dumbasses too, since they all suggested Herman would have immediate success because of the top recruits Texas had signed, players that LSU recruited.
Posted on 9/2/17 at 3:07 pm to Lester Earl
Herman is amazing against top competition but his struggles against inferior competition is strange. He had all off-season to prepare for this game. Was this a home game too? My goodness we'd freak out losing at home to Maryland.

The obsession with Herman is almost getting sickening now. I had my questions with him but lets see how the season goes before people start attacking.
If Texas blew out Maryland do you think there wouldn't be a "we should've hired Tom" thread?

LSU fans weren't throwing shite on the field at Herman today. Look I think this is one game, I got a lot of laughs out of a 6-6 Bama team not so long ago. I'll give Herman a full recruiting class and another year before I make any long term predictions.
But kissing your players is fricking weird. Just is.
