Is Wade the only coach in history at least partially responsible for getting an AD fired years after he left the school?

I would trade wade for this coach any day. We might be better this year, but that’s a very low bar.

a 10 pt road loss to a Bruce Pearl-less Auburn team; the epitome of brutality

Almost every team that's plays Auburn on the road loses by at least 10

But maybe this season we'll lose by only single digits!

I think it’s because WW turned the Basketball team from a bottom feeder into an SEC Top 3 (when not champ), and when we punted him, Woodward didn’t bring in a homerun replacement.
It’s like he feared a punishment from the NCAA, so he took it upon himself to punish us for them.

To take it a bit further, he's partially responsible for getting two LSU presidents AND AD's fired.
In 2019 the hate spewed at Alleva at the Vanderbilt game was matched only by the 2008 football game when Saban returned to LSU. The fans and donors were pissed at Alleva for suspending Wade literally on the eve of LSU playing to win the SEC Championship. It's not a coincidence that Alleva was out and Woodward was in a month later. Nor was it a coincidence F. King was gone by the end of that year. Wade's suspension wasn't the only reason both were out, but it was the "last straw" for many influential people.
Fast forward to last spring. A group of power brokers (including the Governor) pushed to get Wade back to LSU. Tate and Woodward said absolutely not, and in the process made them "enemies of the state". That's why Tate was pushed out in the summer and Woodward had no allies when football crashed in spectacular fashion.
As to why many LSU fans like Wade, the answer is pretty simple. He won at the most consistent level in decades for a program that has not been a consistent winner for ~35 years and his successor (pending this season) has tanked the program back to a decade high (or is it low?) level of losing and general apathy. All while Wade went to a school a few hours away and quickly led them to an historic level of success.

Pump the brakes.
yup.

Yep- I wasn’t even thinking of the presidents. That’s an interesting footnote in his biography.

It hurts my brain to think some guys wake up thinking about an ex coach, that was an idiot and fired.
Yall watch games of teams you have no interest in, to find good and bad about a fat ex coach?
Who, BTW, will NEVER EVER be coach here again

The reason these stupid posts get started is that all of these LSU “ fans” spend so much time belittling a coach and a team while they are 8-0. And good teams have bad nights. It’s why Auburn had to go to overtime to beat Bethune Cookman. Go check their net ranking. And not even appreciating the play of what’s becoming one of the best PG to play at LSU in a long time. You really have to have a miserable life to sit around waiting for LSU to have a bad half so you can jump in your computer and spew your stupid crap. If McMahon repeats the last 3 years then he’s gone. Pretty simple. But to sit around HOPIING he loses says a lot about the kind of person you are. Pathetic. And Wade ain’t going anywhere. He spent around $10 mil on his team. He better win with that kind of financial support. We’ll see where we really are next 2 games but I am glad they had a game like that before next week. To comeback from such a bad shooting half on the road after losing one of your important forward rotation pieces to dominate the last 3 minutes and OT will go a long ways to helping them moving forward.

The fact there's still 90 Wade ballwashers on this board is just sad. Move on with your lives. You'd think he gave every fan a reach around when they walked in the PMAC instead of a personal pan pizza.

Meanwhile, Bill Self was also on FBI records. KU and him gave the NCAA the finger and they went on to win the national championship 50 minutes from LSUs campus that same year.

When Will Wade wins a national championship or even gets to the final four, we can revisit your concerns. Until then STFU.

I’ve never understood the obsession by some to act like he isn’t a good coach.
He took McNeese to the tournament twice and won a game.
LSU made the tournament only 6 times in 24 seasons before WW was hired. LSU made it 4 seasons in a row with WW.
He’s in his 1st season at a new place in a rebuild. What a retarded thread.

LSU was on the way before fat Scott fired him. LSU is just trying to sniff the NIT since. Sad

It isn’t about whether Wade was a good coach. Of course he was. It’s about the losers who constantly attack ANYONE who says ANYTHING positive about this team. Period. We know the last 3 years have sucked. We also know LSU spent less than just about every other bball program in the SEC. This year he was given more resources and this team is obviously better than the last 3 and has a potential all SEC PG in the making. We’ll see how far it takes them but until these Wade cultists, and it is a cult, stop bashing anyone who publicly supports an LSU basketball team, think about how stupid that is, you will continue to see posts like this.

I have posted this on other threads before.
He made LSU basketball fun and entertaining. That’s all we want. We are a football and baseball school. Those are the sports we expect championships. No one really expects a basketball championship. But give us a fun and exciting team to watch that wins more than it loses, makes the tournament most years and occasionally makes a run to the sweet 16 and everyone is happy. Will Wade gave us that and would have given us that for his whole career. It’s not hard to understand.
