I don’t think either fanbase has any reason to be incredibly confident. These are two teams that could be elite, but both have some question marks and it’s game one, where those kinds of things tend to cause the most problems.

Uh, okay. Your point is? He said above they can't lose 2-3 losses and they did exactly that and still went in. Not sure what point you're trying to make. They have an easy road in the ACC all they need to do is win it.

Clem's Son made the playoffs with 3 regular season losses because they won their conference.
If they go 10-2 in the regular season this year, and then lose in the ACC championship, they are likely sitting at home.

Texas only lost 1 SEC game because they were gifted the best schedule anyone could hope for in the SEC last year.

I think it depends on who the 3 losses are to. If the 3 losses are say to Clemson, Alabama and Texas A&M and they all end up in the top 10-15 then yes we could absolutely make the playoff.
Bama lost to Vandy last year. Ole Miss lost to Kentucky last year. Sorry you can't have 3 losses with one coming to one of those teams and make it. Now South Carolina had a gripe IMHO....I think it's probably because they are South Carolina and they did not start the year as ranked.

My guess is Clemson would be in the upper echelon of our conference. Maybe not one or two but certainly in the top 5 or 6. That’s why this should be a great game. Home field advantage will be tough as hell just as it would if we were playing a top team at home in the sec.
