Finebaum is a Tennessee grad, so he’s still salty about Kiffin leaving them for USC 15 years ago when USC was 10x the better job.
Finebaum’s core audience when he made it was Alabama fans, and lives in Birmingham, so he’s biased towards them. Bama is scared of what Lane can do at LSU, and not so secretly wants Lane to be the HC at Bama today.
Hope that makes sense on why he’s so butthurt. He’s carrying the butthurt from two fanbases, which somehow surpassed the butthurt from an Ole Miss fan.

It’s just not true. In 2019 LSU was America’s team. Everyone was rooting for that team. In 2011 everyone thought LSU was getting screwed having to play Bama again, and they were almost all rooting for LSU.
We are a little unpopular now because we’ve gone out and bought two established coaches in a row. A team trying to buy championships invites criticism.
