I don't know that she is underachieving. Maybe this is the best she can do. I But I like her and have met her before before and she is a awesome lady. The girls appear to love her, but something does appear to be missing they just haven't reached that next level.

This sums it up. I’m sure Beth is a fine person. I do wonder why she can’t recruit dominating pitchers that put the fear of god into opposing hitters, especially following Hoover and Walljasper.

I was one of Howard Dobson’s biggest critics. The team is hitting much better so I’ll give him credit. We still seem to be headed for another “good but not good enough” season.

And yes, Beth has been given the budget and facilities for a consistent top eight national seed program. Missing OKC should be the exception, not the rule.

Again, for the facilities and budget, those are reasonable expectations that I am sure Scott Woodward shares. Beth has been given everything she wants and needs in this area—WAY too much for a program barely making the top 20 since our last WCWS appearance in 2017.

They won that game on Saturday, in the national spotlight.

You act like this is the first time LSU has been on TV and it’s a program that has been to multiple WCWS

This thread is weird

This and the strategic downvotes make me wonder if softball is taking a page out of Ed Orgeron’s book and hiring student interns to patrol and post on social media and message forums.

You’re wasting your time, the football mentality is too deeply engrained in the majority of LSU fans.

Torina is currently one of the most overrated coaches at LSU.

Nope she is a good coach but not great. After 10 years she's never gotten us to the finals. She's unable to land elite pitchers , like Oklahoma, UCLA, WAshington, and Florida

Personally I find women's basketball hard to watch. Softball is actually exciting, plus the chicks are hotter.

Softball is very fun to watch. I’ve really come to enjoy watching LSU softball, especially years back, when we were very very good. The game just goes by so much faster than baseball, so it’s an easy sport to enjoy. Baseball is the best, but the game is so damn slow.

Yes! I’ve coached my daughters teams for five years until I decided it was time to just sit back and watch.

This year’s team has the lineup to make a late season run but the pitching needs to get better.

They will have to perform well the rest of SEC play because as of now they would have to travel for regionals.

LSU currently is at #20 in the RPI; they moved up two spots this week despite losing the series to Arkansas. That was a frustrating series, one that we should've won, but the sky is not falling and we are not a long shot to get a regional. The schedule softens down the stretch.

ETA: #19 RPI in the NCAA's rankings

Softball is very fun to watch. The women’s college World Series had more TV viewers than the men’s a year ago. Softball is a good product. Women’s basketball is not.

Kramer’s Mom does more with less. Beth seems to do the opposite.

Was Torina originally part of the search to replace Girouard, or was she just a panic hire after the Bama fig backed out?
