If Bengals had to play the game with the game referees being SEC refs and playing under college rules for holding, targeting, pass interference, etc., and play AT Tiger Stadium under the lights of a fall Saturday night, then LSU might only lose by two touchdowns instead of five.

Mixon would run for 200 yards

Even though Bengals are the worst team they still have NFL players at every position.
Any college team would not have NFL players at every position, that is the difference.
The quality of line play is so much different in the pros when LSU might have two o linemen and 2 d linemen that eventually make a roster from this team.
The speed at every position is better than LSU or any other playoff contender could put out there.

I wonder if once they start paying student athletes they would be able to do a college all star team vs a NFL one.

I don't know how hard they would be trying but it would certainly be interesting to watch.

Define “close”
Maybe within 49 points.

common belief on here is that any NFL team would destroy the best NCAA team but I'm not sure that is the case. I don't think there's that big of a gap between high end college sports and low end pro sports.

Many rookies go into the NFL and other pro sports and do very well even winning individual awards or tournaments. There are 15 yr old children winning pro tennis events.

Baseball players going straight from college into the MLB and playing in the bigs right away. Even HS in some cases.

LeBron went from HS to the NBA and dominated immediately. Moses Malone did the same thing in the 80s.

I don't think it's out of the question for a top tier NCAA football team to be able to give a bottom dweller NFL team a competitive game. And, until they play, no one really knows what would happen.

Individual players succeeding against professionals is not the question.

No. Our skill guys could compete some, but we would get demolished in the trenches.

Let’s just start on the offensive and defensive lines.. we would be blown off the ball the entire game.

Not a chance in hell. The best college team has maybe 7-10 players good enough to get drafted. Just drafted.

And you're talking about them going up against 22 NFL starters.

It would be a blowout, on a scale of 62-3.

The real problem I think is that the Bengals are going to take their best defensive lineman, and stack him up against our worst offensive lineman. How do you think that works out?
