I guess i dont get the same sentiment with simpson. I feel like he’s gotten several opportunities. And while its still early, i dont feel like he has done much to earn a ton more right now

Not sure who the best defensive option we'd have for 2b and how much of an upgrade that would be over Dardar so I suspect he'll stick there.

Jack Ruckert is who CJJ said would be the late game defensive substitution at 2b, and that’s what we saw yesterday.

Simpson has 5 plate appearances and is 2-5, how do you even draw an opinion on that, much less a negative one? What are we doing here

I wouldn’t mind if we saw Ruckert at 3rd late in games. There have been some tough plays mishandled at 3rd, but the routine plays aren’t being made regularly either.

Simpson has had 5 plate appearances. He’s gotten a double and a single. That a .400 BA and 1.000 OPS. It’s a small sample size and the only reason he isn’t playing more is bc Dardar is on fire plus Jay keeps giving guys like Reaves playing time. In fact Simpson has started 3 games and keeps getting pulled every time they change pitchers.

We can say Dardar has earned the spot for now but admit Simpson looks solid in the few chances he’s gotten.

Last year was an aberration. Normally there will be defense/offense tradeoffs at 2nd, 3rd and maybe RF. This year we will probably kick it around a little like we have the last few games. But we should rake.

I’m not crazy about his fielding. Two bad throws yesterday. And you have to barehand that slow ball at 2nd. Trying the glove flip just isn’t it.

Today should make you feel differently. He made some nice throws from the OF as well.

He’s hitting .400 with 5 extra base hits in 15 ABs and has 9 BB with 0 Ks. Yeah it’s his job

Wow that's stupid numbers. So he he's hitting 333 even if you count his singles as outs.

No way you can keep him out of lineup at this point. He can absolutely mash.

His bat will keep him in lineup, his defense can be worked on he's solid.

Batting .429 with an OBP of .500. I’m not sure what more you’d like him to do.
