Dude go watch the game. The entire time there was zero audio except the broadcasters and a crying baby. It was extra awkward when the broadcaster would talk about how wild the crowd was and we couldn't hear a thing. It's not that big of a deal but it does retract from the energy and excitement of the game and you should know about it

The Las Vegas tournament they are running this wknd seems to have regular crowd noise. You can hear the in park PA announcer, other authentic ambient crowd noise, etc.
Noticed they also have pitch counts which i don't think we got today. Also the ball/strike guy was way behind in updating the graphic.

It’s either fake noise or the worst placement for mics in a game.
Our second run on a bunt there was almost no crowd reaction, from what was called the largest crowd for a Frisco Friday game…
Three run HR and a little crowd noise then back to the crying kid, the same crying kid
LSU fans are not quiet.
And not one GEAUX Tigers chant…
And only a couple of bat “pings”

Kendall- you’re a fig and live up to the Aggie name. Hope that made you laugh like my last post. Imagine a waiting room for a streaming service. Bounce on a pile of dicks. No one outside college station respects A&M. You’re a pussy man.

We had pitch counts today. Kendall made it a point to say that he took fan feedback from the Flosports game and told the production crew to add pitch counts for our game. He forgot to tell them not to run the same background audio on loop though. D1 Baseball and this entire broadcast has been a fricking joke. They deserve every bit of criticism they get and Kendall coming on here trying to save face somehow keeps getting more embarrassing for him.

No crowd noise, no sound ambient sound from the park. Honestly I feel like this "crowd cheer" after the game saving relay was piped in by the production team
Yeah that crowd “cheer” was obviously dubbed in. It’s obvious.

It would be bad enough to loop background noise versus actual game play, but to use tape with a kid crying is beyond incompetent
Has anyone compared this to Fyre Fest yet? Because that's the vibes this is giving off.
I always thought trying to manufacture a high quality production one weekend a year during baseball season was...ambitious. Even ESPN has kinks in their broadcasts and they're doing this 24/7 365 with the best crews money can buy.
Also just some friendly advice, if you do this televised tournament again, I'd splurge for an event management company to make sure things run smoothly. Even Billy the Fyre Fest guy learned that lesson for his second go-round.

Agreed. D1 needs to, at bare minimum, extend a refund for yesterday's game. I shouldn't have to go out of my way to dispute the charge. If I was them I wouldn't want the banks calling me to find out what is going on

quote:Can we get some kind of commitment from you that there won’t be a crying child on loop and instead mics of the actual game & crowd for today’s game?
I'm talking about the crowd mic. Not overall.
If you’re worth anything and care at all, you would have re-watched the stream and would agree that there was a loop of a child crying instead of field mics.
You stated on here that the broadcast would be Ben & KP, and would be like a CWS production. That was false and you oversold your product, why did you do that? Did you lie about this too, or are you uninformed about the happenings of D1baseball?

Kendall has posted that you can email him for a refund of yesterday's game.

I missed that. Appreciate the update

After the shite show in Round Rock a few years ago, im little surprised you're in Houston covering A&M (at not even your own company's tournament) rather than being in Frisco, making sure everything was buttoned up with the broadcast.
This. It’s bad business. I know Kendall is an Aggie fan first and foremost but man you have to protect your livelihood huh? I know LSU will back in a position where d1 will be streaming and I cannot for a second think that this won’t negatively impact the revenue

When you watch the last pitch highlight that LSUs Twitter page posted, you can see everyone in the crowd standing and yelling. When you listen as strike 3 is thrown it’s some mild piped in noise from a different event

LSU fans are forced to pay for multiple tournaments worth of fees to watch this weekend, but when we go to watch the one team we paid all that money to watch and can't, we get a "refund for the day."
Wouldn't the refund have to reflect the package that was purchased?
If you sell the entire weekend as a package, it would seem logical that a refund would reflect that.

I’ve been doing live sports broadcasts for over 20 years on CBS, SEC network, ESPN, Fox Sports and NBC. Mostly running cameras but have directed a bit, no other way to say it but it was another sh!t sandwich by D1. I’ve watched better broadcasts by high school production teams with a three man crew.
The failure on the streaming side is one thing but have a quality production crew that knows what they are doing first and foremost. Run a damn nat sound microphone right outside the announcer booth, you’ve certainly have to have available inputs up there to use.
