How is it ironic?

The McMen value losing with honor and moral victories.

Well the off court excuses are used because they have zero knowledge of the mechanics on the court. That’s why the “magical 3pt%” excuse is so popular. They think that’s actually a thing.

Without Thomas we are screwed.

The only silver lining is that McM will not get another year if this season implodes. There will be a change and we’ll at least have some positive to look forward to in 26-27.

Yep. His protection (Woodward) is gone so this crap will no longer fly if it continues. I’m looking forward to the imminent change.
He just has never seemed to have a handle on the program. There is no vision, no identify, no calling card, etc.
Just stockpile talent and trot out the same old system that gets figured out by the rest of the SEC by late January.

Well you see, if you think it’s a bad thing that’s because you’re pulling for us to lose.
The argument on the first page was if you think it's a bad thing you're just using it as an excuse for McMahon losing.

That was one post and nothing to do with anything I said

Once MK gets wound up like this he is good for hours. He will be going past midnight.
That’s pretty good.
On topic though, I don’t think this is some grand conspiracy as much as it is illustrative of just how little interest there is in the program. LSU’s best player and arguably the best PG in the SEC may be hurt and news of that only comes out the night before the game. And only then because LSU was forced to list a status.
I’m not even sure there are beat writers covering the team. If so, they are part-timers, at best, so they probably couldn’t be bothered to ask any questions to the coach about the upcoming game. In some respects Kent Lowe may have the easiest job at LSU. He’s the SID for a program that no one seems to want information about. We are on the eve of SEC play starting and I would guess 80% of LSU fans are totally unaware of that fact…along with probably 50% of the local sports media
EDT:
Being an LSU basketball fan sometimes feels like being a member of the Mr. Belvedere fan club. If you tell people you are a fan most (a) ask if the games still come on TV, and (b) think it’s kind of odd you’re a fan. At some point soon the fanbase may consist of a few dozen people who have weekly meetings in a conference room at the La Quinta Inn on O’Neal Ln.

Yeah.
Man, there has to be someplace between fawning over McMahon (which I am not sure I have really seen) and going batshit crazy and personally attacking people because they disagree with you.
It can be entertaining at times, though.
Thomas being out is not ideal, to say the least
Posted on 1/2/26 at 10:26 pm to mdomingue
I’d say 95% of people are in between. They just don’t care enough about basketball to be vocal. Also they don’t hate themselves enough to type back and forth with Madking on a Friday evening

An accusation without evidence is just noise.
