I don’t know if they would even really consider it but he was pretty popular with the fans. We all know Ed wanted that job pretty bad. Maybe they float the idea at least publicly gain some good will with USC fans.

HaHa..... sorry, but that wasn't even a good humour line...

It's probably going to be James Franklin or Luke Fickell.. I don't think it is a secret that AD Bohn at USC likes Luke Fickell as he hired the longtime player and coach at Ohio State to be his coach at Cincinnati. Results have been outstanding.... Don't think Fickell will take the job though as he makes upward of 3.5M,and is building something at UC especially now that they are entering the BIG12... Seems like a really loyal guy and is midwest to the core... Think Franklin takes the job.

Once he is fired, that baw will never be a P5 head coach again.

He needs to just go count his money and bang twenty somethings.

Furthermore, LSU would not give him any incentive to stay!!!

It's a cultural thing. Hardcore Cajun doesn't translate to Southern Californian. I may be mistaken, but for USC, it's likely a hard pass.

Why is LSU paying O so much $$$ if ‘no one wants him’???

There are these things called contracts…

The 76’ers are still paying Ben Simmons. You think they want him?

I think Gamecock fans would be thrilled with this hire.

USC's rich, snobby alumni felt that there was a huge cultural clash between their high society backgrounds & Coach O's Cajun heritage.

Or, perhaps the fact they may have been right that he is a cajun meathead who no one outside of Louisiana can understand when he speaks. Now, he probably would have been a better hire than Helton. But that doesn't mean he would have been a good hire.

That’s why his contract is so ridiculous.
completely agree. Contracts should be based on the market, and if a coach is at no risk of getting poached, we don't need to increase his salary.
