While the ranking has been there, the need at certain positions had not. Recruiting rankings don't mean jack if positions of need aren't filled

I think we all need to eat some crow. After troy it looked bad and we all thought the worst. Now imo the next 3 weeks are important. I felt O needed a 9 win season in just first year. Hopefully he gets to 10-3 but even 9-4 after that start would be good. He is kinda unproven as a HC so I don't believe he would get the slack a Herman or someone would get in their first year. If Herman wins 5-6 he's building. If O wins 6 it's a disaster. So win out shut critics up for a while and recruit recruit recruit!

I can appreciate your sentiments but what remains lost on me is why did LSU come out the gate so very slowly? Youth, suspensions, newness, etc????

You're right, however that doesn't mean this team is the least talented team we've had. This team is extremely talented. Lack of oline depth cause of transfers was the issue this year coupled with miles lack of recruiting true tackles.

We are 6-3 with an extemely talented team.

6-3 ....WITH talent.

The Edward Orgeron cult has taken hold with its core necessity being filled ...lowered expectations.

Hell one guy even said it in this thread - this season has been more fun because he lowered his expectations.

6-3

WITH talent

Never seen a 14 point loss positively turn a fan base around like it has this week.

I still can't get over the loss to Troy.

Fair enough. At some point, though, assuming that LSU continues to have success with O at the helm, you will have to admit that he has contributed to that. You can't blame the failures completely on O while giving the assistant coaches all of the credit for the successes.

His main contribution is staying the hell out of the way of the people coaching. If he continues to do that then I will give him credit for doing that.

We were already thin coming into the season at D-line but a lot of people were simply too damn stubborn to admit it. Then we had the injuries and suspensions, but folks were simply unwilling to acknowledge that it would affect our play on the field. Now that Key is back in fighting shape, Frank Herron is back from suspension, and Rashard Lawrence is healthy, it looks like a new team.

Over the last few weeks we've seen people coming out to "eat the crow". The truth is that Orgeron didn't conjure up some magical turnaround. What happened is we got our injured/suspended players back, young players on the O-line started to gel, and the secondary stepped up. All things that a lot of people I talk with thought would happen. I guess you could say Orgeron kept the team from collapsing, so I'll definitely give him that.

So, you don’t think he can win a National Championship. But, he can lead us to the playoffs. Haha yeah that makes sense.

Oh, the last game of the best season in LSU football history? With LSU's GOAT head coach? Future was extremely bright then.

I'll take that all day over this shite.

What I want to see, as person who has and continues to bash Alleva and the hiring of O, is how the 2018 does in September and in the 'meh' games. The blame for our wasted September is squarely on Ogre's shoulders. The improvement is a result of him getting out of the way. How anyone can feel optimistic about his tenure, especially if/when we lose coordinators, is a mystery.

He better recruit like hell and better hope LSU can keep affording the highest paid staff in football.

And all the while the Ogre Crowd will keep pushing for lowered expectations.
