“Don’t mean shite”

Perhaps not, but I would be rather be ranked top 10 than not ranked at all.

It’s a lot easier to recover from a stumble if you are ranked as opposed to not being ranked at all.

Anyway, it’s just the idea that the respect for LSU football seems to have dropped off a cliff nationally and within the SEC. I don’t see how that can be viewed as a good thing or something that doesn’t matter.

Color me shocked. Everyone is just playing it safe and piling on. It's the easy way out! If we do shite the bed, they will say, "See we told y'all". If we prove them ALL wrong, they still have nothing to lose. It's a win win for all of them.

It’s really hard to argue right now that we are underrated.

Beat Miami and LSU will start getting respect.

Like or not, Ed has not earned the benefit of the doubt.

It's crazy how undervalued this team is

How can you call us undervalued when we don't even know our value? We assume what a lot of these guys will be but no one knows, not even the coaching staff.

It doesn't matter if LSU wins their games is what I meant. As long as LSU wins, it won't matter where they are in the preseason polls. Every year a few teams go from not being ranked to top 10ish.

Nationally, no one with an objective opinion is going to give LSU much love until Orgeron proves he can win consistently with the staff that he is responsible for hiring. Interim records are nice and all, but that is really someone piloting someone else's ship.

The last time LSU was ranked in the top 10 was September 3, 2016 vs Wisconsin.

We were ranked #5 preseason going into that game. We lost that game and fell to #21. We climbed our way back to #15 vs Bama, then finished the season ranked #19 with a bowl win vs Louisville.

In 2017 we started off ranked #13 and climbed our way to #12 before we lost to Miss. St. Finished the season ranked #16 after a bowl loss to Notre Dame.

We gotta earn it back.

1. There is a wide open race between 3 people at QB in which none of them have shown anything special (yet) at the college level.
2. There is no RB on the team that any non LSU fan will recognize. This is coming after many years of producing NFL starting caliber players.
4. I think a majority of LSU fans would honestly have a hard time naming 3 WRs on the team. I'm just talking about a typical fan. Not a guy that regularly posts on here. That's how unknown that position is.
3. The o-line lost a few guys.
4. The d-line lost Key. I know he had a shitty year last year, but he was a known player
5. The secondary will have to replace 2 CBs that left early for the NFL.
6. The O-coordinator is a guy nobody was after in the offseason.

There is no reason LSU should ever have a 6 loss season unless it involves NCAA probation.

Not worried at all about this

This will be immediately corrected after week 1 if LSU takes care of Miami

Nothing new. ESPN always hates LSU but love our damn food........ Idiots.
Werent we preseason #12 and finished unranked last year?

Everyone acts like we should just be given respect because we’re LSU. Same mentality the team took into the Troy game.

You want respect? Earn it.

I don't think this should come as a surprise to anyone for all the reasons that people have already listed.

But if we beat Miami in convincing fashion, AND QB play looks capable and sharp, I would expect us to start climbing immediately after week 1.

I’m going to put my tinfoil hat on because I have a sneaking suspicion that O and Prince are quietly pumping negative info out there to all media outlets so that if this team coasts along to another 3 or 4 loss season they can tout it as some big overachievement instead of the same mediocre shite we’ve dealt with for years.

When Marcus Spears is all over SECN talking about us being a 6 loss team, AND BEING OK WITH IT saying the coach just needs more time, something is very very off and I don’t like it one bit.

That's a lot of tinfoil, but O does play the media and some people really well, so something like this isn't out of his wheelhouse.

I don't think other people would buy into it, but you never know...
