But you have to ask yourself, would a really good coach want to come to LSU if he sees that getting to the NCAA postseason is not enough to keep your job?

So you mean the exact reason most coaches are fired at schools in the major conferences?

One can’t make the argument that LSU hasn’t given Torina all the time and resources she needs.

You think Mulkey gave a shite why Nikki was fired? No. Because Mulkey knows her capabilities, and her process and she knows the excellence it creates, unlike Torina and the seemingly endless emotionally driven excuses some posters make here for her.

We need to put some real pressure on the administration to make the needed change. I’ve already emailed Scott and let the TAF know that my monthly donations will cease until a change is made. We deserve better as a school and as a state

You are committed to women’s softball I’ll give you that, lol.

Contracts are made to be broken. Especially contracts for Softball Coaches. Been here too long, had too many chances, and failed.

She hasn't been fired because women's softball is not worth the effort. Will probably be phased out once revenue sharing kicks in.

Absolutely I do! Any coach worth anything wants that pressure!

I'd imagine anyone who wants to make a half a million dollars per year coaching womens softball. Would be a massive raise for 95% of them.

ULL got the Louisiana player of year and Beth can't close deal in her own back yard. Girl's relative was last years hitting coach.

Don’t you think if Coach Howard thought she was a SEC player he would have offered her? She committed 2 years ago

She was the coach when I was walking the campus of LSU 13 years ago! She has not brought home a title in all this time and underperforms. She is a nice lady, but she has had a very large sample size and has not gotten it done.

Any coach would be under scrutiny, or anyone who has worked a job that long and has underperformed.

So you believe "most coaches are fired in major conferences" after those coaches consistently get their teams into the NCAA post season tournament?

I'd really like to see those stats. Do you have a link supporting your claim?

Best words spoken in this thread. This cannot be disputed. We hired her with more lofty expectations and they simply haven't been met...and it's not close.

Posters here act like she has been holding a special gift in her coaching bag that, one day, she'll release for the world to marvel at.

She simply has failed and losing a regional to Southeastern is the cherry on top of a shite Sunday

Getting to the post season when the field is 64 is a pretty low bar. Certainly low for a top ten salaried coach.
