Freshmen during McMonstrosity’s tenure

How is it possible to not recruit one high schooler in 4 years that has any true success as a freshman. He literally has to be the worst talent evaluator ever. Every single team that has success has a good freshman. It can’t be that hard.

Well, it’s hard to have much success when you don’t play. He signed 3 freshmen this year. Only one plays meaningful minutes.
He’s tried to build a program like at pre-2020 Murray St where you sign HS players and develop them over 4-5 years. Unfortunately, the game changed…LSU’s HC didn’t

You cannot deny what McMahon‘s record was at Murray State. He is a very good basketball coach. The problem isn’t him. It has always been LSU.

He’s basically had one above average year without Morant as a head coach. He’s not meant to coach in the big leagues.

I mean, there is typically only a handful of difference maker freshman. But they don’t stick around if they are any good.

There are a LOT of reasons to criticize MM. This probably isn’t one of them. Basketball are mostly year to year now. There are very few “stable” rosters

Murray St had 7 seasons between 2022 and 1990 with less than 18 wins and MCMahon had 2 of those.
They are the Kentucky of the Ohio Valley Conference. Winning there proves nothing other than you can maintain a program

So there isn't a core of 2-3 year players who might know a "system" that McMahon may or may not have? So it's all like a playground team where the teams just pick each year from available players who show up?
