There isn’t much difference from Moore & Evans. Evans has a much higher upside. One guy has 16 career starts, the other like 5-6. The Evans disrespect is weird & ignorant.

After 3 starts for each i would disagree. Evans leaves way to many pitches up in the zone and in SEC play that will be hit to the gaps all day long. He also goes way too deep in counts so now his pitch count is up. Give me Moore over Evans at this point in time after 3 starts each. Maybe Evans finds himself but right now on Feb 28th Moore is just better than Evans at this point.

I’m not sure you understood my point that it doesn’t really matter.

I’m not sure I do either. I think it’s very situational. And I think it matters to some extent. Right now, I don’t think it really matters. I do think that at some point, you would want guys to get in a routine before postseason play. Once the postseason comes around, I certainly think the order of when guys pitch matters.

3 Starts and Evans has not looked comfortable in any. Do it next week. Move Moore to Friday with Evans first out of the Pen then Schmidt to Saturday. Figure out Sunday as you go.

Sure the pitchers are matched up with the hitters, but you put your best against their best for 2 reasons: 1. you assume their Friday guy is going to give your lineup the most struggle and you want the same for theirs and 2. winning the series is much easier when you win on Friday. The guy on the other side matters.

Have you actually watched any of those 3 starts. This is against Milwaukee, Indiana, and Dartmouth. This is not SEC Competition. Different mindset and approach to starting as opposed to relief. Guy was a STUD out of the Pen last year. Put him back. Plus out of the Pen you could potentially use him more than once in a weekend.

Skip would completely disagree with you. He always said winning Friday, with your best pitcher, was of utmost importance. The Winner of game one wins a 3 game series 68% of the time.

In the MLB playoffs, when the series become staggered and a team is able to throw their SP1 vs the other team’s SP3, who do you think has the advantage?

No doubt, but when you're LSU you hope to have the SP-edge each game every weekend, and that is the formula to win and sweep the series. That's why other teams will flip their Friday and Saturday guys when playing us but we don't do that in a year where we have a solid 2-3 man rotation.

Evans-Moore vs. Moore-Evans is going to be strong either way and won't make much of a difference.

I agree

And I think because of this, unless he struggles in SEC play keep Evans Friday and Moore Saturday, they already have those reps. Not that Friday vs Saturday reps are much different but when it comes to pitching you want to give college arms 5 or 6 days rest between starts. As in Friday to Friday or at worst Friday to Thursday. Setting them up early in the season helps.

Agree. And ideally Guidry is going to relieve 1 day and Sheerin another. Trying to win as many as possible regardless

Times are different now. Teams can get several more quality starting pitchers these days with the transfer portal.

Completely irrelevant. We're talking about a 30 game conference schedule in CBB where each game matters equally and you will always play a 3 game series on the weekend with both rosters at full rest. The goal is to win as many of those 30 as possible not to win a best of 7 series
